| Best cut for wooly Yorkie My Yorkie, Maggie, has a wooly coat. I've gotten her the puppy cut twice now from two different groomers. Both times she ends up with a choppy cut. I'm sure it's from her wooly coat. For those who have wooly Yorkies, what cut do you go with? Does it look choppy? I really don't want to shave her but I don't like the choppy looking cuts she's gotten. |

| My Winston is cotton and I had it long in full coat and it was hard to keep up, so he's cut real short in a puppy cut now, I did it myself with a 1/8" comb on my clippers. He looks cute but he's still a cotton ball.

| I like the modified Schnauzer cut. It was my preferred cut for Chizziewink who definately had a cottony coat. She was cut short all over - except we left a bit of a skirt and the hair on her tail was left long. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I also like the modified Schnauzer cut . . I normally will leave skirt and shave the tail but just a few weeks ago I decided to try a much cooler summer cut and shaved off her floor length skirt . . !!! I as a bit hesitant at first because she has such a pretty cotton coat and I thought that is would ruin her but nope.... is looks great and it is much cooler for her. Oh and now her hair doesn't get tangles up when I put her dresses on so that a bonus. Here is the latest pic that I have of Ruby in her new skirt less cut !

| I think Penny would be described as having a cottony coat. She mats really easily and was one big mat when we got her as a puppy. Her hair kind of clumps together and is very wavy and no amount of brushing makes it smooth. I have her shaved short now. She still looks very choppy everywhere. It makes her look like we don't take care of her.

YT Addict | My Biewer has a thick cottony coat and I scissor cut him to about 1-1/2 to 2 inches long. I taper the legs and trim his face. I don' like what the shears do to the coat. It shreds the hair, using scissors keeps healthier hair and he looks cute with the cut. |
