I think Penny would be described as having a cottony coat. She mats really easily and was one big mat when we got her as a puppy. Her hair kind of clumps together and is very wavy and no amount of brushing makes it smooth. I have her shaved short now. She still looks very choppy everywhere. It makes her look like we don't take care of her.
