Anyone use Les Poochs brushes?

The Les Pooches finishing brush is completely different than a pin brush. It is an additional tool to use in conjunction with other brushes and combs.

It looks like a slicker, but is so gentle.

I use the wooden pin brush on Cali and it is really smooth. She doesn't tangle much at all. But....I'm always open to something better, sooooo I will want to hear all about how you like it

And I know what you mean about less than stellar dogs in the ring. I've seen more than my share

Nothing but the best for my girls; have to keep them in top form for the show ring. I try to find the very best products available and I don't mind spending a bit extra for top quality that has a long useful life. Can't beat good German steel. I guess if my kids had health issues I might not be able to splurge, but then again, they wouldn't be in the show ring.

I've not used that one, but a comparable CC brush. Now word to the wise, if you have spent those $ have a separate container for the brush. THis helps to keep the pins from getting bent. To my chagrin I did not do that for the big dogs CC gold brush, and I bent a dang pin the first show weekend! I use several Tupperware containers - for my most expensive brushes, each to their own container...

For the final polish of the coat. I like IvSan Bernard - Gloss. It is in a spray bottle. I hold up 8-10 inches above the coat. Spray very very lightly. Obviously practice at home. Then I have a round very round soft soft bristle brush that I lightly spray with Velus Anti Static spray and I go over the coat with this soft soft brush - amazing it is by Oster. Its only function is to polish the coat and I do like its effects.

Good warning. I keep mine in the elaborate clear plastic container that it came in. Don't ask me about the time I killed my CC wood pin brush. Never leave utensils on the floor during a photo session.

Gail, thank you so very much for sharing your wisdom. I haven't tried the IvSan Bernard Gloss, yet or the Velus Anti Static Spray I;ll have to look in to them. I do have a very soft Velus brush which I absolutely love.

I have not tried the ISB, but I can second the recommendation for Vellus Static Stabilizer. This is what I use on my boys as a brushing spray. It is lightweight, doesn't get sticky, and has a very light almost undetectable scent.

No I could not find it on that link. It has a round perfectly round head and it has very soft bristles - I probably bought it 2-3 yrs ago I have no idea where getting old! The outside color is dark - blackish.

I should be clearer - the CC brush is not constructed at all like Les Pooch brush for the final finish of the coat. It has very long soft soft pins, but its role is for polish of the coat. If I get some time this weekend I will take a picture of the two brushes I was talking about.

Also as everyone who is posting here knows we have so many different types of coats for our Yorkies, that what works for my dog might not for yours.

Razzle has the pure silk coat fine haired.

There is one thing I never did try, that those of you that like to play with these things, is using actual silk to polish the coat. You can google it. In the olden days woman use to polish their hair using silk.

YVW also permanently mark your brush to identify it as yours. Sometimes we do have folks of the light fingered persuasion at shows. Also many of us use the same brushes and sometimes as well things in-advertently get left at the ring table or with in the group grooming area.....

I know I shouldn't come to these kinds of threads all it does is make me want to spend more money. I have a grooming addiction. the IV gloss is that a leave in spray or is it one of the conditioners?
