| How often do you clip nails? I rarely have to cut Joels nails(probably once every few months) and even when I do cut them they don't even look like they need to be cut. I guess it means he walks on the pavement enough. So how often do you cut your dogs nails? |

| Personally? Never. (I know...I'm a chicken. I cut one into the quick one time and I was done) I do take him to the groomer probably 3 times every 2 months to have his nails dremeled. He does not get to walk on concrete very often, except for in our basement, and his nails grow like weeds! I like them kept fairly short, so I happily pay someone to do it, and I have his feet clipped at the same time.

| Blazer gets his nails trimmed every Friday after his bath. I trim them when they are still soft from the bath and sometimes file them, too, so they aren't scratchy. Keeping up with his nails means that I never have to take too much off at a time and I've never made him bleed. He doesn't love nail time but I wrap him in a towel and lay him on my lap so he doesn't fight me about it. |

| I think the last time I trimmed nails was 2.5 years ago on Teddy. My boys are like Joel and file down their nails on pavement every day. There is nothing to cut.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I do my girls every 3-4 weeks. They want 15.00 each if I take them anywhere. Pixie and Roxie are real easy to do. Cali fights me but we get it done.

| I trim their nails when I bath them and it's every 2 weeks. Mostly I have to trim to front toenails...the back ones don't grow that quickly

| I know, I'm so lucky Joel lets me do all the grooming and clipping I can't imagine having to take him somewhere to get it done |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Alfie is 11 months and never had his nails trimmed. I have popped in to the groomer a few times to get them checked and get the vet to have a look when we are there but he hasn't needed a trim. Our back garden is flagstones and we go the the park and walk on grass and concrete every day.

| I haven't cut my Brody's nails. I'm too chicken to do it myself. I don't want to cut them too short and hurt him. I take him to the groomers once a month because they only charge me $5. And since I do his grooming other than his nails, that's very cheap! Last edited by sasha2334829; 07-18-2013 at 03:36 PM. Reason: Adding more info. |
