| Bad hair cut Hello I have a 9 week old male Yorkie. I took him to groomers Yesterday for a trim and bath. However instead they completely shaved His face, around eyes and mouth. He doesn't even look like a Yorkie anymore instead a poodle by face. How long will it take his facial hair to grow back to he looks like a Yorkie again? |

| Hi and Welcome!! I’m sorry that happened. You really should leave him at home, he is too young to be going to the groomers. You should wait until he has all vaccines. He can catch kennel cough really easy. I’m surprised your groomer took him in. Usually groomers wont take in dogs that have not been fully vaccinated.. I would most likely be looking for a new groomer when that time comes up again. Please be cautious where you take your little one.

| Hi and welcome to YT! I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with a groomer. Sometimes groomers just don't listen, fortunately there are a lot of really good groomers out there too so I'm sure you will find one when the tie is right. As to your question about how long it will take to grow out your pups facial hair, I really don't know for sure. Princess Sophie's facial and head hair seems to be growing really slowly but she is our first yorkie so I'm really not the one of offer information in general. Now, as to the previous post. She's right about not taking your puppy out in public or around any other animals before he's had all his vaccines. There are so many really bad things that can make your pup sick before he's completely inoculated, including rabies. Don't be in too much of a rush to show him off just yet, you will have lots of time for that. For now, spend all your time in loving and training the basics and your pup's health will benefit!! In the meantime, we'd all love to see picts, even if your pup is not trimmed as you would like, I bet he's a cutie!! Good luck and again, welcome!!

| How about a pic? OMG at least now you know what you don't want. Next time you will be able to communicate what you are looking for. I have found that we need to be specific.

| I am very sorry that the groomer did a bad job. But 9 weeks is way to young to get a hair cut, the pup doesn't have all his vaccinations and that can be very dangerous. The pic you uploaded is before or after the haircut?

| 2nd picture is before (standing up). And yes he won't be going back. It's my First puppy and the groomer gave me appointment like his age was ok. But I've learned my lesson. |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I would be very upset and I would complain to the boss about that groomer. She should know better. I Never take my dogs to a pet store groomer. You take a chance of razor burn and they coop them up in a cage and put a hot dryer on them. Yikes! Get someone to come to your home. You can supervise and watch them. I am so sorry for what happened but the fur grows quickly and your dog is cute no matter what. |

| Sandy Simpson Thank you so much. I finally talked to the breeder I Got him from and she assured me it would grow back and gave me The same advice. He's still his playful self today so that's all that matters. |

| He will be fluffy again within a few weeks. He is such a cutie. I really question a groomer's ability if she allowed a puppy to be groomed without all of his vaccinations. Once your little boy has his final round of vaccinations, it takes two weeks for full immunity to occur. Until then, he should not be any place where other animals have been. Your life will never be the same again after receiving the unconditional love from your adorable little baby boy.
