![]() and my boy looks like an idiot!! I should have known by what he does to my poor cat ( imagine a persian with a mohawk) every summer that he would do the same to Zeus but I was desperate! Zeus went outside with snow on the ground, he LOVES it outside and the snow was 6-8 inches, well he came back in and he literally had snowballs in his hair (because he loves to play in the grasses and he NORMALLY has long hair) which we couldn't get out so hubs put him in his kennel until they melted, well after it melted he no longer had snowballs but he had tons of matted hair. So hubs instantly grabs his faithful clippers and goes to town. So if you see your hubs grab the clippers... JUST SAY NO!! It going to take forever for my little cutie to look normal again... at the moment he looks like he has mange!!

![]() oh he does too!! It wouldn't be so bad if it was all the same length or if he would actually finish within a few days but he doesn't because Zeus HATES it. The cat LOVES to be groomed but not Zeus. Even a bath with that boy is a big production, we get wetter than he does! Our girl Zoey puts up with it, she doesn't mind being brushed either, she just hates her face trimmed. She actually bit the groomer when he was trimming her face but I cover her eyes, if she can't see the scissors she's ok. Zeus hates it all... ugh. I know there HAS to be something out there to remove the knots without shaving them... right?

| ![]() Hide the clippers, scissors, and anything sharp from your husband. ![]() When my boys get snowballs, I put them in the sink and run warm water to melt. Then I wrap them in a warm towel to dry. I wait until they are almost completely dry to brush and comb. If their hair isn't tangled before getting encased in snow balls, it usually is fine once they dry. Coats/clothing do tend to tangle their hair, but it is so much easier to deal with on my boys when it is dry.

![]() Thank You everyone, great idea's, I didn't even think about warm water to melt them. I will be trying the infusium and pantene, didn't think about that either! I wasn't sure if I could use human shampoo and conditioners on them. I've been using oatmeal shampoo, no conditioner.

![]() lol it's not pretty at all, the neighbor kids asked what was wrong with our cat. Our cat LOVES to be outside when it's warm so he's out on the deck a lot during the summer.
