| too late for top knot? Sophia is 11 months now. I tried for about a week to put her hair in a top knot, but she was just not having it. She kept pawing at the band until it would come out! So, I gave up and trimmed her bangs .. but I want her to have a top knot now!!! Do you think I can just get her used to brushing her "bangs" until they grow out, and then try again? Or do you think I waited too long, and now she just won't wear one?

| Riley is so handsome I wish I didn't give up so easily!!! Now her bangs are so darn short! I'm kicking myself! lol. I think I was putting the little band on too close to the scalp, so maybe that's why.

| Yeah the more loose the better to start. I'd put one in then take her for a walk.... keep the mind occupied till she forgets about the band. You could use plastic clips to start, as they can be put in quicker with a little practice, lol.

| I remember asking about the top knot.. I think you should work on it.. I have with Brandy I started putting in little bands in for 30min at a time take it off and do it three of four times a day.. then I got little sruchies for her and they were loose.. which was good because she like those only thing with short hair it falls out.. I make small clips and have tiny srcunchies if you want some let me know I'll send some for you..good luck

| I braid Bear's top knot so it is not tight against his head. I don't think it is too late....just let her hair grow and try again.

| I thought for sure there was no hope. You all restored my hope!!!!!!! I will try again!!! I've been bribing her with treats today and she's been letting me brush the top of her head... so that's a start.

| I use the very small claw clips instead of bands. The girls don't seem to notice them, and they are so quick and easy to take out and put on No more broken/pulled hair Keep brushing her head, and she should be better with a top-knot by the time her hair grows back.

YT 1000 Club Member | Natalie was 11 months when I got her. Her previous owner said she wouldn't wear a top knot but I kept trying. I would put it in and she would paw at it until she got it out and I'd put it right back in. She finally got use to it and don't pay any attention to it now. She was the same way about brushing her. Keep putting it up everytime she takes it out and he will get use to it...and I used the extra tiny hair bands so if she pulled it out it wouldn't pull her hair out.

| Try the lobster claw clips made for dogs. I have found two types that Roxy can use. The kind for humans don't close up small enough and they will come right out. I also have not had any luck with alligator clips or the rubber band bows. Roxy can get those out in a heart beat. |
