| Shampoo and Conditioner w/no spicy or woodsy scent? Hello everyone! I am looking for a good shampoo and conditioner for my 6 month old Mia. I want something that does not have a spicy or woodsy scent because things like that always make me cough and sneeze a lot. I got some samples from BioSilk. One was the Oatmeal but it has a spicy/woodsy scent to it so I did not even try that. The other was the Lanolin shampoo. That really makes her feel soft and smooth and it smells nice. But I would like to try some others to see if there is something I like better. I also need to find conditioners and detangle sprays. I hear everyone talking about Minksheen and some people don't like the smell but others seem to like it. Is it a spicy/woodsy scent? I don't want to spend a lot of money and then find out that I can't use it at all because it makes me cough and sneeze. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Topazie |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. We have tried many products in our home and the lightest, cleanest scents are Coat Handler (a favorite among yorkie exhibitors and breeders), and Vellus. Other products we like have a fairly strong scent, but I don't consider them spicy or woodsy. Chris Christensen is coconutty. I loved the results of the CC products, but the scent was a little overpowering for me and my pups. Diluting may help. Biogroom is neither spicy nor woodsy, but their products may not agree with your nose. Espree is coconutty. I have not tried Minksheen, but I'm betting you would really dislike it because everything I have read here indicates it is a very strong scent that people either love or can't tolerate.

| Minksheen is citronella, eucalyptus, cedar oils... My DS says smells like camping or mulch, other one says Vicks vaporub! We love Minksheen( we hate flowery, tropical smells) but the earthy freshness is not for everyone. |

| I love Minksheen. But I only use on the girls during the summer. It does have a smell that is not for everyone. I think it probably does have a more woodsy scent. Two others that I like is Yorkie Splash and Shine and for a detangler the Yorkie Sheen. Yorkie Splash and Yorkie Shine | Yorkie Shampoo and Yorkie Conditioner I also like the Chris Christensen line. Chris Christensen Systems Official Site I don't think either of these have an overpowering smell and not woodsy at all.

YT 2000 Club Member | I use Tropiclean, they have a line with all different scents, I personally love and use the Papaya Plus 2 in 1 Shampoo. I also just found their SPA line at Petco, I E-mailed the company to make sure it was actually Tropicleans SPA line and not a knock off, they replied that it is their line. I purchased and use the SPA Colors White for our white boxer girl Gracie and I LOVE it!! Smells kinda coconuty with a hint of sunbathing lotion I've smelled before but can't put my finger on. Anyhow, both of the ones I have bought and used, I love!! They carry them at Pet Supplies Plus and Petco. Here's the link to their site: Natural Pet Grooming Products - Pet Shampoos, Conditioners, Colognes, Oral Care and More! Their products are also natural, which is very important to me.

| My favorite is #1 All System shampoo and conditioner and it's very concentrated, so you add quite a bit of water to it and it lasts forever. Is leaves the coat very soft and clean smelling. Everyone that holds my girls always ask what I use on them to make them smell so nice. I buy by the gallon. I use the super cleaning & conditioning shampoo and the super rich protein lotion conditioner. They are wonderful. My silk coated Yorkies almost slide out of your arms their coat is so soft and my cotton coated one doesn't mat up like she did with other shampoos and conditioners I've used. It's a great product. | I just wanted to add that I also use the Yorkie Splash and Shine products. They are all natural and have the most wonderful scent. Not at all harsh or woodsy. I think you would really like the result on your dog's fur and the wonderful scent. |
