| Help with paw pads Teddy has rough paw pads and one looks like it's calloused. My vet checked him out and medically he is fine (nothing abnormal or open). And his nails are short. I don't know why his pads are rough when the other dogs who are 8 years older than Teddy have very soft pads. Does anyone know of a good remedy? I wad thinking of putting bag balm or a thick lotion on with baby socks when he's asleep but I don't want to make things worse with the wrong type of product. Thanks.

| I haven't used this cream before, but I have heard from customers that it is very good. I'll try to find some additional reviews for you, as there is only 1 listed on this page: NaturVet Tender Foot Foot Pad & Elbow Cream for Dogs at PETCO

| Mardelin recommended bag balm to me. Uni's pads feel soft but cracked in others and sometimes when she plays and slides too much she wears them down. I still gotta go get a can though.

| It does look really good. I'll keep this in mind if I ever need it.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | There are a few products on the market for paw pad healing and protection. I've used bag balm on some dogs rough pads and elbows. i've also used Esprees Paw Balm which works well. There are a few others like Eqyss Mega-Tek Rebuilder and Coat Handler Skin Works that have good reviews as well

| I bought the bag balm earlier when I was at CVS figuring I might try it. Then I read that mardelin had recommended it to someone! That's great, I'm excited. Teddy does not like his feet touched so as soon as he is in a deep sleep and won't care. Im putting it on his little pads. I hope it helps!

| Did the vet specifically check his blood glucose? Sometimes diabetic dogs will have rough, dry pads...

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Cathy, we use bag balm on Tuffys' pads. It helps a lot. I'm hoping that his new boots will help this winter too

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | do you have to let the bag balm dry or anything before you let your yorkie go walking around on hardwood/tile/laminate floors? do they make paw prints of the floors or pick up debris on their pads after you apply the bag balm?

The can itself is greasy, so I store it in a plastic bag. | |
