Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I bathe my dogs between every 7-10 days with a mild shampoo. Bathing too often can end up drying out the skin and actually causing the hair to be oilier.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | My vet told me no more than once a month. If she needs a clean-up between times, I'm supposed to use a "dry" shampoo for dogs. Tallulah (so far) is pretty tidy and hasn't really needed a bath. |

| I think every 2 weeks is usually good, but with lots of clean-ups in between. When Ben's hair was long, his beard needed a good washing almost every day or it would get stinky. Eyes need a warm wash cloth about every day too or you get the eye crusties. Mine get a nasty brown stuff in the corners and below their eyes. No way that could wait a week or two. He would also need in between bath washes of his male part as his string of hair would get rank too. Come to think of it, he gets washed on all the time!

| Yorkie Coats are very similar to human hair. Once a week is what is recommended. Although I bathe my show dogs every 4 days. One of the secrets to growing coat is keeping it clean.

| With my Bella I prefer once a week but can push it to 2 weeks. After that she feels nasty!

No Longer a Member | We usually do once every 7-10 days (we're growing out his coat, just to see ) Every night I take a warm wash cloth to his privates to clean him up so as to not get stinky and to avoid any kind of infection that can be caused by dirty privates. |

| I was just about to ask this question. I was concerned that his natural oils would deteriorate if I bathed him every two weeks. But by the looks of it, this is normal? I'm trying to get in the habit of brushing his hair out every night. Is it ok to use the same shampoo and stuff everytime, I buy a special dog shampoo from the vet.
