I am doing research and it seems Oster seem to be a clipper of choice.
My question is...what are the different blades used for? I've seen them sold with a number 5, 10 and 50? What are the different blades used for and what will I need?
Thanks in advanced! I've been googling but can't seem to find my answer |
I have clipped my dogs for years and used Oster to start with and then Andis. They both could use the blades interchangeable. I now have an Andis and some of the blades I use are Oster. Anyway, I have a 40 that I use to do between the pads, the tips of the ears and if you want to attach a plastic comb, you use the 40 blade and attach the comb to it. I have a 10 that I use to trim around the anus and under the belly in places if so desired. I have a 4, 5 and 7F. Depending on how short you want to clip the hair. The larger the number the shorter the hair cut. I also have one that I don't use any more, that is sort of a thinning blade. It cuts some hair and leaves some hair. That is sometime nice to thin the hair out before you use the finer blade. Hope this helped some. Happy trimming!
