| Yet another question on yorkie coats.... I'm sure someone has experienced this but I personally don't have enough experience to know.... One of my puppies - 13 weeks old - has a coat that knots somewhat easily. I am able to brush the knots right out but I pretty much have to do it daily or I'm afraid it will get too knotted to be able to get out at all. His hair on his head is already breaking a silver color and has been for several weeks - much earlier than the other 2 who are just starting now. Mom has a nice silky coat, dads coat is more modified. Any ideas what kind of coat he is going to have? Since it's knotting now, I'm wondering if this means its going to be cottony? The other 2 have coats that do not knot at all. Anyone? |

| So no correlation whatsoever between how easily a puppy's coat matts and coat type as adult? To word it a different way, have you ever had a puppy coat that matted easily but grew into a beautiful silky coat? |

| Nope no correlation at all. Yeah! I have....but, I've seen puppy coats that have never matted and ended up with softcoats. One of my Champion females with a glorious silk coat. But, as a puppy I would bathe her and the next day her coat would stick straight out, as if she'd stuck her paw in a light socket, and her coat would be completely matted. Each puppy is different, but at your pups age, it's still too soon to tell.
