| Grooming Woes! Help!! I have a male yorkie who is 1 year old today! In his little grooming life - I have used 5 different groomers and have become disenchanted with all of them. Does anyone have a groomer in Addison, Carrollton, Plano that they would absolutely recommend? The last horrible experience resulted in clipper burn, an ear infection and a hair cut that should require a hat! I don't want fancy - I want clean, nails trimmed and instructions followed. Am I just fussy - or do I have lofty expectations? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. |

| I feel your pain! Finding a good groomer is harder than finding a good breeder! Your not being too picky.. I personally think that to be a groomer, you should be required to get a license. Too many people are out there destroying good pet hair!

| I will never take any dog to a groomer after working for a few. Its easy to learn to do the grooming yourself and much more fun for you and your dog. Plus you dont have to pay for a butcher job!! The start up expense is a little pricey, but it will save you money in the long run.

| Try going to the regional forums and asking for recommendations there. Also, if you could find a pic of what you expect will sometimes help. I & my daughters keep brag books of past grooms to show new clients and those who want a change of style for their babies. A great place to start is the galleries right here at YT! There are some "groomers" out there who shouldn't be grooming pet rocks but on the flip side most people who get into this business love working with pets and have a certain flair for it. Good luck on your search! |

| Yikes, that is so scary to me. I haven't taken Lexi to a groomer for that reason. It am afraid to leave her to start with LOL How about learning to groom him yourself. I guess that could be scary too at least for me but Lexi reallly doesn't have alot of hair yet. Happy belated Birthday Hugs Cheryl & Lexi |

| Thanks To All! I appreciate the referrals. It seems to me that every groomer starts out OK - I was taking Bennett every other week - then they become very lax! I am OK with the bath and "trimming" but when it comes to putting scissors down his nose by his eyes - I just can't do it. Otherwise, the do it yourself route would be for me. I am going to follow up on your referral. Thanks again. |
