I am so glad I ran across this thread. I have a regular CC Pin Brush and had questioned this brush when I first ran across it. At that time, I guess no one had used it because I didn't get any response! Guess I'm going to have to get one now that I know it works.

Hi All

This is my first posting although I have been browsing for months and enjoy reading the forums, which have been an absolute treasure of information.

I would love to get a CC wood pin brush but here in the UK it appears to be non-existent. I did find one site but it did not have the wood pin brush although it sold other CC brushes.

I went onto the CC site and thought ah well I'll order from there, the brush was 25 dollars...............the shipping 35 dollars what!!!!

Does anyone know where I could get one here in the UK?

One little question, where does the name 'furbaby' come from? I have never heard of it before. I am amazed at the popularity of Yorkies in the United States. In fact your pet shops appear to be geared up to cater for them. I struggle to find suitable toys, they are mostly for the larger dogs. My Yorkie is called Georgie, he's 13 months old, weighs 2.1 kg and is adorable. I take him to the park every day and have never seen another Yorkie there.

Does anyone have the Maden brush and the CC Wood Pin brush? How do they compare. I really like the Maden brush but if the CC Wood Pin Brush really is that much better, I would order it too. Now with a puppy to groom again, anything that works better is a must-have. I had forgotten how that puppy hair likes to mat under their pits especially!

I have both the Madan and CC Wood Pin brushes (along with a CC Fushion, Mason Pearson and my most recent purchase the CC Boar brush). I personally think each has a purpose......when brushing through mats or knots, I prefer the CC Wood Pin brush as it works the best with very little hair loss.....but when I need to brush completely through their coat, I prefer the Madan brush. (I use my mason pearson and cc boar for show days.)

This might be due to a harness. I had the same problem with a leather one but now I am using a soft nylon. Waiting for a silk one which should be even better.

Thanks Kristin, I wanted to order one and needed the justification. Think I will give it a try. I love the Madan brush too, so I know it will still get used. I have a boar bristle brush to really bring up the shine as well. I don't know what the brand is, bought it at Sally's beauty supply, but it works really well to add extra shine without static.

If you get a particularly tough mat, try rubbing a little Cowboy Magic Shine and Detangler into the mat, then pull apart with your fingers a little, and it should brush right out. Another product works just like it called "The Stuff" -- great at taking out tangles! I have also read that you an rub some corn meal into a mat and it will come right out. I still have not tried that.

Yep, you are right. It is exactly from her harness. She had a grooming appt. over the weekend so we thinned everything out, shaved her belly to give her a (fake skirt) and hopefully now she will stay cool. Her walk today...no tangles! WOOO HOOOO!!
