| Why not just groom yourself if it is possible? It is much safer than "hopefullY" picking a good groomer. Some of them take a whole bunch in at a time and groom one by one but some probably line groom also (all baths first, then all hair cuts, etc.). If you can't stay and watch through a crack in the door or whatever, they wouln't be aloud to touch Ellie. I just do her myself anyway. So much cheaper...

| Thanks everyone for all of the help.. You all have given me the confidence to decide to do it myself. The more I read on YT I think it would be better for her to have a few "not so great" looking haircuts by me for a couple of months than she and I both sitting in agony wondering what they're doing back there. My Poor baby... I'm still soooo angry about the way they acted toward me!! I can only imagine what they did to my girl!!!

| When I was taking Hot Rod, it was at least a minimum of 4 hours. What I was told is that they give the dogs breaks so as not to stress them out too much. I kinda liked the idea of them taking it easy with him but then I really didn't like that he was in a crate the rest of the time. I have started grooming myself and it takes me probably 1.5 - 2hours per dog, but I am learning as I am doing.

YT 2000 Club Member | MY groomer takes more than one of dogs at a time and has them back in 3 to 4 hours depending on what Im having done. So I would say about 2 hours a dog tops. But I agree with what bchgirl said, most groomers set up where they have a few dogs coming in at the same time. If your groomer does that then I dont think 5 hours is unreasonable, if she was just doing your dog alone, than yeah its unreasonable.
