| ![]() I want to know how the rest of you clean your yorkie's butt after they make poop. When my yorkie is done doing his business, I'll put him in the tub and just wash his butt. I tried using baby wipes for awhile, but I felt like that wasn't enough to make him clean. he sleeps on my bed so I want to make sure he's totally clean. how do you all do it?

| ![]() When Fiona was younger ( she is almost a year old! oh jeez! ) I would just wash her butt off in the tub, i recently cut her hair a little bit shorter, and noticed that she no longer gets as dirty, i usually will shave her anus area too, so it clean and hair free, and that way her poopie doesnt stick to her butt!

| ![]() I shave their backside as well so there is no mess after doing their business. I use the little mustache clipper on my older yorkie and scissors on my little one because she does not like the clipper noise yet. If they do get some stuck on them, I do put their little butt in the tub or sink and wash it off.

| ![]() I agree with the others, a good grooming should take care of the problem, unless your baby has diarrhea/or loose stools...in that case, a hinney wash is indicated.

| ![]() I stick Bailey in the sink, butt first under the faucet and she sits there and lets me was her butt. At first she hated it but now I think she likes it. She hates poopy butt. It is very quick by just washing her hind end. If it is going to happen it will happen at her 4 am potty trip. I am not about to do a full blown bath then...lol. |

| ![]() Ditto to all of the above. If you are home grooming or professional groomer, a good cut is definately a fantastic start! One of my boys is just fine without a hinny shave and the other needs to be kept short back there or we have dingle berries and butt washes.

| ![]() For Bailey, its a butt trim and butt wipes. If she has a loose stool - then its a butt bath.....but, that's just us. ![]()

| ![]() My li'l one's bottom is always kept short and on those rare occasions when she does get those cling ons....I will bath her bottom in the sink..I do keep her back side short/shaved so that we don't have many of those episodes anymore ![]()

| ![]() omg i feel so dumb. i didn't know shaving the anus area is a popular practice to keep their bums clean. i will have to start doing this. it is very messy when poop gets stuck to their hair and hard to clean too. i'm glad i asked this question. thanks everyone!
