| Help! Need advice! Breaking coat My yorkie has just turned 5 months old. She is showing signs of breaking coat on her head. When should she break on her body? She is still black like a puppy. Also, at what age can you tell coat texture? She isn't matting but feels as though her coat is thick. |

| Thanks for answering. I am going to try and take pictures for you to see. How can you talk to certain people here without being on the post? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Her adult coat could take 18 months or more to break completely. It should be possible to tell her coat texture at this age most likely. You can Private Message another member. When you click on their avatar picture a drop down menu will appear with the Private Message option. When you have a Private Message in your box you can tell by looking to the right of the thread title bar. There is a box saying "Welcome - (your user name) and your Notifications are highlighted there.

| They can take up to two years to develop the full adult coat/color. My Yorkie didn't come into her full color until she was almost 2 Enjoy the changes!!! It is beautiful to watch Yorkies change color and coat
