Her adult coat could take 18 months or more to break completely. It should be possible to tell her coat texture at this age most likely.
You can Private Message another member. When you click on their avatar picture a drop down menu will appear with the Private Message option. When you have a Private Message in your box you can tell by looking to the right of the thread title bar. There is a box saying "Welcome - (your user name) and your Notifications are highlighted there.
