| The tech that does Kayla's nails told me she had a long quick and to be really careful. I am afraid of hurting her so I always take her in to the vet. I called the vet we bought our mini schnauzer from and asked him how he got Lexi's nails sooooo short. He cuts them and uses a dremmel. You have to be careful even with it. I had never seen nails that short before. She is 8mo. old. I also have the Pedipaw but I am really a coward. I have been afraid to use it on them too. I got Tina's hair caught in the dremmel and it just scares me. Good luck with your baby and she will do just fine in her surgery. The hard part is keeping the little buggers still when they get home. |

| I am going to purchase the Pedi Paws today. I think they are great, and safer the the standard clipping. !

| My pug dog LOVES the dremmel, and she's a scaredy cat when it comes to most things. Missy however, hates it. So, I just clip the tips of her nails once a week with human nail cutters because she's quite tiny. The vet commented on what a great job I'm doing with her nails ![]() I don't think that I'd do the whole cauterizing thing. I mean, I'm sure it can be done, but why put her through that when she's already getting spayed. I wish her a speedy recovery.

| So I dropped her off this morning. I almost cried. I'm still worried... only 2 hours till I can call. The vet said that yes they can do it, but there is always risk of infection. It would have been 35 to cut them back short plus 30 for antibiotics. So another 60 on top of the spay. I was too worried about infection, so I said no this time around and I'd worry about it at another time. Like, if she ever goes in for a dental or something. Should I have done it anyway? I think I can still call and change my mind... ehh??

| The first time mine were afraid, but I continued and encouraged them and they were fine. You can get to the quick with the pedipaws,I did. I wanted them short and I went to far,I just got my girl on one nail but she recovered instantly, not like with nail clippers,it leaves them sore for a day.

| Just wanted to let everyone know that I have Mahina with me now. She's been home for about two hours. Poor baby has to wear an E-Collar and she doesn't like it at all. I offered some food and gave her about a tsp and some water. I think she's doing alright, update if anything changes. Gonna go back to cuddling her.
