| Baby oil on yorkies so i usually bath milu once a week, sometimes twice a week. but when i took her to the groomer, the groomer said that milu had dry skin and told me i was bathing her too often. (she showed me the flakes on milu's skin, you can see it if you pull the hair apart and look at the skin underneath) so i started putting baby oil on milu before bathing her. i would get milu wet, rub baby oil on her, and then shampoo/conditioner her. does anyone know if this is ok/good to do? or is baby oil bad for them? thank you!

| You could ask the groomer about the baby oil, as I'm not sure, but, I do know when you bathe them too much, you're washing the natural oils out of their hair. My littlest one only gets a bath every 2-3 weeks, the older ones only get one every 10-12 weeks. |

| I would use a natural oil as baby oil is a petroleum product and will clog the pores and cause flakes. If you go to the black hair section of Walmart you will find various natural oils. Olive oil based oils or Lanolin are really good because they are of small molecular structure and therefore easily absorbed. Bath the dog, condition and than lightly mist the ends of the hair with the oil. The oil will work it's way up the shaft of the hair to the skin. Spot cleaning can help you to avoid bathing too often.
