| To Trim Eye Area or Not? Newbie question I adopted a rescue, the most precious boy ever. When we adopted him, he was primarily body shaved with his head area left longer. I have noticed his "eye area" has some trimming done. Should I instruct the groomer to continue this or let it grow out for ease of future grooming? Thanking you in advance for any info... YT 1000 Club Member | It all depends on if you are wanting to let his hair grow or not. Some people cut the hair because it is easier maintenance for them. Those of us that show do not cut any hair except in trimming ears, feet, and the sanitary cut. Do you want the hair on his head and face to grow but keep the body shorter then let it grow. I say it is all up to you and what you want.

| My main concern is the comfort level, it seems to be obstructing his vision ect.. is it easier to let it grow out or to trim short often? Right now it needs trimming if I chose to keep trimming, or tough it out and wait for it to grow out. I also noticed some choose to trim around the tip of the muzzle and let the rest grow long. Thanks!

| I say let the hair by their eyes grow out. I cut the hair there for 3 months and had to keep doing it every 2 weeks or so. I decided to grow it out and not have to worry about it. Now that the hair is grown out, it's much easier. It was a pain for 2 month letting it grow out though.

| I took my guys in for a trim and when i picked them up they shaved all around their eyes and eben their "unibrow" area. I hated it!!!! it even made their tears stand out more. The only good thing was that you could see their eyes better. I am letting them grow out and will be sure not to let any groomer do that again. I ahve such bad luck with groomers. they get messed up EVERY time I take them in. It's not like I dont know what I am talkin about or want... i am a hair stylist for goodness sakes lol. |
