| frustation with topknots! help please! ive just started to try and put topknots in pebbles hair as her bangs are starting to impair her vision & i dont want to cut it. i have the little top knot rubber bands and I ordered some colored ones. i have some bows... some with rubberbands, some with alligator clips and some with the barrette back. i am having trouble with ALL OF THESE. Her hair is rather thin (shes growing in another layer of thicker brownish hair underneath on her head.. its like an inch long?) and im afraid the bows and rubberbands will pull the longer hair out. i am very careful but she moves around a lot when i am trying to do it and i get frustrated. what kinds bows do you find work best for thinner hair... which ones are easier to put in and which stay in the best?? i need some help. also... i cant seem to make the topknot look right.... im unsure of where on the top of her head to place it when she walks around it looks funny from the top |

Don't worry Maya will not hold still for me either ... I put the little black rubber Bands in first and then the Bows ..... seems to stay in longer that way ... I use all kinds of different Bows ... and afterwords I praise her and she will get a treat .....

| May I also suggest trying the little fuzzy ponytail holders for little girl's hair? They are good for practicing bc I don't think they snag the hair too much. If your dog tries to make a break for it mid topknot, it's easier to untangle than a laytex band, imo. I get mine at the dollar store, 300 for $1, so I don't feel bad about using them once and chucking them after they're all stretched out. |

| top knot help I made a video "How to Groom Your Pet Yorkie at Home". It is 2 hours, 2 minutes long. It explains in very detailed, simple to understand, common sense ways to care for your yorkies coat at home. It is made for the at home pet owner who knows nothing about grooming. It covers nail trimming, foot pad shaving, ear hair plucking and ear canal cleaning, how to trim out the eye corners between the eyes, how to clip the sanitary area, how to tip the ears. I show 3 different hair styles for the body (long to the floor "traditional" look, puppy cut, and schnauzer type "personality" clip) and a few different head styles. How to put up the top knot, and a newer style of topknot that will really stay in, and a rounded cute "teddybear" face and head style. I show how to empty the anal glands, and show the bathing and drying. I explain all about using the grooming equipment properly, what to buy, where the groomers shop for the lowest prices around. I stress common sense and safety. THIS IS NOT FOR SHOW DOGS OR PROFESSIONAL GROOMERS. I have been a professional groomer for 17+ years now. I show a few of the important things over and over so you can see from different angles. I use 3 different yorkie models. My DVD's have chapters so you can skip to what you need to see. I have them on my yorkie website (see signature below) and I will give Yorkie Talk members a $10.00 off discount for a limited time. The website price is $39.95 + $3.50 shipping. Members here will get it for a total of $33.45 which includes the shipping fee. I accept pay pal and US POST OFFICE money orders. Feel free to PM me if you are interested. The discount is for a LIMITED TIME ONLY as long as my current supply lasts. Sue& Cricket Quote:
