| ![]() Hi, I am new at this whole grooming thing and looking for any pointers. I have a puppy now. I plan on growing the coat out until 6 months of age and then shave and grow it again. I have done some research and found the Andis single speed shaver with the #10 and # 7f blades which were recommended elsewhere. Sound about right? Also what is the best way to clean up the hair around the muzzle and eyes. Just shears? Thanks in advance. |

| ![]() Not sure about the shavers as I cut both Oscar and Ruthie using scissors. For the face, I use tiny little BLUNT tip scissors around their eyes — I like to keep the hair by the inner corner of their eyes trimmed neat and short so that it's not sticking in their eyes. Plus, it's easier to clean their eyes every day this way.

| ![]() and I would not recommend a #7f blade in the hands of a novice groomer/home groomer. I have a wonderdful yorkie grooming DVD that will tell you the correct equipment to buy, where to buy it, and how to safely groom your yorkie at home. I show you a few different clips and head styles. The DVD is 2 hours and 2 min long, very detailed. All of the details are listed on my website: Crown Royal Yorkshire Terriers Several members here have bought my DVD and all have had a good response from it. I just broke the 2000 mark on how many dog grooming DVD's I have sold! I do give YT members a $10.00 off discount from my web site price. This offer expires June 1. If you want this DVD, just PM me.
