Tofu's Pony hair cut My little male was attacked by a bigger dog, I was ver upset when the vet said he had to be shaved. So we had some fun with it and made him a Tofu-pony. Since I groom him all the time he just sat there while I did it.

These pictures are just precious! Well....Beatrice is precious. My baby, Zeus, will be going from a puppy cut to a schanuzer cut this weekend and these pictures are a perfect example of what I had envisioned. Thank you for sharing!

Carl...could you give us a description of how you did Beatrice's cut? I have the video called How to Groom Your Pet Yorkie at Home and it shows a cut called the "Personality" cut but she uses snap on combs. You don't use snap on combs? Only the 7W blade for the short area (her back and tail) and then just scissor the rest? I have to say she is one of the prettiest dogs I have ever seen Michelle

Thanks for the complent on Beatrice ,she is very pretty Yes, I just use the 7W for all of the blue, but I cut against the growth- so basically from the back to the front...except when blending into the skirt I I go with the growth and grdually lift off the clipper. Then I use the thinning shears to help blend the short to long areas.I don't use clip on guards, but if you find it's too short with the 7W then I would suggest using the guards. Yes, Just scissor the rest, I haven't cut the the long parts for a long time, just trim around her feet and shave her pads...so that hair is getting quite long now. Have to cut it soon though, because I want to put her in jackets and sweaters for winter. I cut also an area on her chest with the clipper from ave the font of her shoulders to under her chin, where it meets her neck. You can't really see it because her facial hair is quite long. Hope this helps a bit, the clip is very much like a schnauzer clip. | |

Thank you...that makes sense...I will look into the 7W blade because the clip on combs are really inconsistent with their cut. I do have one more question if you don't mind. Does Beatrice (love that name too) have a silky coat or a cotton/soft coat? My new puppy has a very silky coat....my last yorkie had a very soft coat...I had always kept her in a short puppy cut because her hair would tangle so easily but I am thinking about letting the new pups hair grow a bit. Thanks again, Michelle
