| It just depends on how big you want the bows. The measurement refers to the girth of the ribbon used. The easiest way to visualize the size of the bows is to think in terms of dogs in shows. 3/8 bows are used on the Maltese double topknot. They are very small. 5/8 is the size that is usually used on Yorkie pups in the ring. 7/8 is the standard size of bow that is used on adult Yorkies in the ring. IMO I like a 5/8 bow if it is just a fashion accessory. I hope this helps a bit. |

| Those numbers are the actual width of the ribbon used to make the bow...so a 3/8in bow is made from ribbon that is 3/8in in width. And your single looped bows bigger looking than the double looped bows. Lacy is 7.5lbs and I like both the 5/8in and 7/8in bows

| I love the smaller bows 3/8 or single looped 5/8 on my two. 4.5lbs and 5.5lbs. It just depends on your taste/style...and what you like. You can also buy one of each and see what you like better. Sometimes, the doubled ones stand up/out so much...sometimes they are heavy and are easy to "flop", etc. Some designs can not be done "single looped", so you have to ask about that if you see a style you like....
