| What should I do? This is Skyla. 3/4 Yorkie, 1/4 Maltese. I just want to trim her to make her coat look a little more even. Any suggestions on the best way to do it? How do you trim the hair on the legs - the black hair? Is it supposed to be the same length as the rest of the black hair? She has never been groomed before (she's only 6 months) but I have done her feet and butt area and nails. Her hair is beautiful - never matts. It's thick and wonderful feeling so I want to keep it long, just trim it when needed. Ideas???? I forgot to post the pic..... I'll put it in the next post! | I don't know how to trim their hair, but your furbaby is adorable.

| If it were me, I would keep the face trimmed like a maltese as she seems to have the facial qualities of a maltese (ears, shape of head, hair). Does she have enough hair to put in a topknot???? I think she would darling with a malt trimmed face with a topknot. The underside I would just keep trimmed even.......she is a darling looking little thing!!

Thanks Carol! Yes, she is a cutie and has wonderful hair. No, her hair is not quite long enough for a top knot... So I just trim the black hair evenly straight across? Starting with the black hair on the legs? I'm just not sure if the black hair on the legs is supposed to be the same length as the rest of the body.

| grooming I would not cut all the black the same length...it will look like you put a bowl on her. Start at the bend of her leg and angle down into the gold...same in back..let the black leg hair grow longer down her leg..and cut the middle coat straight across. I think she looks cute. |

Thanks so much! That is exactly what I wanted to know. I just want her to look a little less ragged across the bottom of her hair. Now, I just have to get her to stand still.....
