Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | The Wholistic Paw - raw food store www.wholisticpaws.com So i just got back from this store and let me tell you it was WONDERFUL!!! They had everything there i could possibly need and the store owners were sooooo nice. I believe its a husband and wife operation. I was there for an hour talking with the husband. He answered all my questions, gave morgan tons of free samples, and didn't try to push anything on me that i didn't want. He gave me a free sample of Primal which includes chicken, duck, beef, and lamb medallions. we're gonna try one of them tonight. the package he gave us for the 'sample' should last us a while LOL the other raw diets they had were Nature's Variety, Primal, Bravo, and Aunt Jeni's. They also have the freeze dried Honest Kitchen, and they have stella & chewy treats (he said they don't sell the food there but if i wanted it he could order it). They have lots of great products as well. I purchased Bravo!'s Pure Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil and The Wholistic Pet's Canine Complete Joint Mobility (b/c of morgan's LPs). Plus he gave us a sample of Nordic Naturals Pet Cod Liver Oil to try. He said that its good to rotate the type of oil you give your pet because it gives you that extra boost every time you start it, instead of plateauing out at one level. I'm excited to try these products and see if it makes a difference. I've been using missing link plus and haven't really noticed anything different then when she wasn't using it. I definitely recommend going to this place to check it out if you are into feeding the raw diet or want to learn about it. The owners are very knowledgeable and will help start you off in the right direction. While i was in there a few other customers walked in and the owners knew them and their pets by name, so they obviously love their customers and treat them well. He gave morgan samples of the treats to try which she scarfed down and he also gave us a free buffalo achillies tendon to go along with the 6 bully straps i purchased (one of which morgan is chowing down on right now). I don't know what else to say about this place but i definitely give it 5 stars. I told them i was gonna tell you guys about them so they will be getting lots more yorkie customers! i saw pictures and heard stories about a couple that they already have. very cute. There are pictures of their customers all around the store. it was very nice. Go check them out!!!!

| That's awesome. So, in the meantime I went back to the place that I go to and they do have pretty much all that I was interested in. They just don't stock Aunt Jeni's Goat or any Primal. I am going to ask why they don't carry the Primal. So, my next order is going to be the Bravo brand. I do like the easy use of the medallions, but with the Aunt Jeni's and Bravo, I am able to add all my supplements into each little log I create before freezing. |

Since Aunt Jeni's and the Bravo come in frozen tubs and logs can you defroze them to make your own logs and then refreeze them? or is it like people meat where you shouldn't defrost it and then refreeze it?

| Yes you can defrost and re-freeze. It says so right on the package. I really love the ease of the little patties....BUT....with the other kind, I make my own little patties and I add all sorts of other supplements that I feel my two should have. The only thing is weighing them. I am trying to stick to the 2% of their body weight rule. TJ should get 2.08 oz. a day and Roxy 1.6 oz. a day. I first bought a $3 cheapo food scale from Walmart, but I don't think it is really good. So, then I started to research Digital Portion Control Scales. The really good ones (weight in oz.) are over $250 - and there are so many to choose from, I was getting a head ache. So, then I turned to E-bay. I found an UltraShip scale that comes with a stainless steel plate - with shipping $30 - Not Bad! So I bought it and I should have it tomorrow. I think it should work well with the whole oz thing. But, if for some reason it isn't...well...back to researching the portion control scales. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | that's good to know. I'm gonna do the same when i get bravo and aunt jeni's. What kind of supplements do you add to their food? I just have the two that i bought from the store. i read that some supplements shouldn't be added way before feeding time and then frozen. I believe they were talking about the omega fatty acid oil, vit c, and vit e.

| I give them these garlic tabs called "Bug Off" and I just ordered SynoviG3 Granules (for their LP) also, sometimes I would put some stuff to deter poop eating. |

| that is so cool...we are so into natural food and supplements. Was this the cod oil you were referring to? http://stores.wildaboutmeat.com/Detail.bok?no=1387 it's quite pricey. |

oh and i'm interested to hear how the Synovi granules work out too. Morgan has very low grade LPs and i'm trying to prevent them from getting any worse. The surgeon i work for felt them and said right now i don't have anything to worry about but a supplement couldn't hurt.

| Yes we do have lots of ticks. Only one this year (so far) - it was early spring, before I started to feed the Bug Off Garlic Tabs (from Springtime, Inc.) - It was a big one crawling into Roxy's ear - GROSS!!!! I use Frontline Plus too (every month). P.S. I had a tick on me in July - maybe I should start eating the tabs too (GROSS) I will let you know Synovi granules. TJ has a low grade too and I would LOVE so much to have him NOT go through the surgery. That would just be so awesome. |
