| I didn't have much luck in NY but how about NJ? Depends where you live in NY, Sandy Hook beach has areas (non - attended by lifeguards) where you can bring your pooch to. I saw people walking dogs there. The sand isn't as nice as those 'human only' beaches but it's clean and you still can lay out with doggies. I'm planning to take Pepper one of the next weekends. It's about 1 hour drive (with no traffic) from NYC

| I can't say with any certainty since I've not been to any beaches in NY, but I can tell you in CA and SC all public city beaches prohibit dogs on the beach from between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In SC, they can be on the beach before 8:00am and after 5:00pm during this season, but in CA they are prohibited completely. Many tourist areas have similar regulations....

My Little Man! Donating Member | There is a beach that is doggy friendly in Staten Island. Its in Gateway Park which is almost at the end of the park. I went with Maxi there the whole summer. You just have to stay towards the left side of the beach
