I'm a bit confused, as you say you want the breeder a bit closer. However, you'll look too a person in Texas.

But, maybe it would be a better way for you to go.

The breeders I recommended to you would have 2nd thoughts on placing a pup with a college student.

If it's an older male, you might want to make sure its had a bile acids test done. Also, do you know why you want a puppy now? Yorkies are great dogs, but they aren't for everyone. It's a lot like having a new baby the first few years. Yorkies bond with humans so much more than other dogs, and really enjoy human companionship. They are really not the purse puppies that movies make them out to be. I think a cat can be a great companion, but it really doesn't mind it if you are gone all day.

There is a DIFFERENCE between COMING HOME & having time.
Than going on 3 hr rides ....or hopping on a train...to take a cab...then hopping back on the train to take another train or cab to get back home!

& i dont live rite next to penn station....from my home to penn station is already a 45 min to an hour ride ( & thats on a GOOD DAY when all the trains are running properly!!)

now if i have the ability to find a place that is just as good...but closer...im goin to choose that place. & if there is a way where i DONT HAVE to throw away money to go to a father place.... then im gunna choose that way too!

Also, check for an open fontanel.

However, at this age he should be potty trained and/or nuetered.

Yes, but that would only 1 or 2 trips in that method. I really don't see it as throwing away money to find a healthy yorkie, that meets the standard, from a well known, reputable breeders.

It was just a thought.
Im already aware that that im a college student & might have a limited amount of time...thats why i PREFER a older yorkie. one who already has basic training (i will have no problem following up on that training)

i dont really want a young pup ( 12 weeks) im looking for yorkies 6 months & older...but i have no problem taking in a puppy.

& its perfectly fine if the breeder didnt want to place a pup with me....if they ASSUME i cant take care of it...thats their opinion & its what they feel is best for the pup.

OF COURSE i know why i want a yorkie....its such a long & detailed story...i dont even have the time to tell you all of it.

ive ALWAYS...ALWAYS....ALWAYS...loved animals...especially dogs....& ive always had this interest in yorkies. as long as i can remember i wanted to be a Vet since i was 5-6 ive had goldfish...(still have him he gunna be 2 yrs old in oct) , rabbits' hamsters....i love to be around animals. ( i'm majoring in biology rite now)...& even at that age i fell in love with SPECIFICLY YORKIES!!

fun fact: the reason i got my cat is because my mom didnt want to get me a yorkie.

& i totally agree with you that yorkies arent made to be in your purse....i try to educate my friends about that all the time. this "teacup" propaganda saddens me!:( i will do nothing but love this dog unconditionally & give it the best life that i can give!

But ill tell you this....the MAIN reason why my mother changed her mind & is allowing me to get one is because....i suffer from clynical depression & someone recommended that a dog will help out....when she told me this i automaticlly knew what breed i wanted.:rolleyes:

yorkies offer something that humans dont.....they love you no matter what!!

i dont know much about yorkies....

but is it possible for a 12 week old to be 3 lbs.....but end up to be 5 lbs full grown....itll be 6 lbs or more rite? because you double the weight at 12 weeks....

Understand that the weight charts are guesstimates and don't always ring true. All is predicated on the dogs lines/pedigree. This is why the importance of getting your dog from a reputable breeder, one that line breeds and has established "type" in their lines.

More than likely, because the pup is being advertised on Craig's list the pup comes from a BYBer who just puts two dogs together, no health testing, etc. You have no idea how this pup will turn out. Aren't all pups cute at 12 weeks of age.

The ad states this little girl has had all her shots......Mmmmmm means that she began her shots too early, therefore depressing mother's immunities....

you cant tell whos real & whos a scam :(.

Sometimes the ones for real end up costing you more than the scams. With the scams, there's no puppy involved, they just take your money and that's it. With the real ones, you get a puppy, but it could end up costing you thousands and thousands of dollars for treatment. That's why finding a reputable breeder is so important, especially if you are on a budget.
