But, maybe it would be a better way for you to go. The breeders I recommended to you would have 2nd thoughts on placing a pup with a college student. |

Than going on 3 hr rides ....or hopping on a train...to take a cab...then hopping back on the train to take another train or cab to get back home! & i dont live rite next to penn station....from my home to penn station is already a 45 min to an hour ride ( & thats on a GOOD DAY when all the trains are running properly!!) now if i have the ability to find a place that is just as good...but closer...im goin to choose that place. & if there is a way where i DONT HAVE to throw away money to go to a father place.... then im gunna choose that way too! |

However, at this age he should be potty trained and/or nuetered. |

Im already aware that that im a college student & might have a limited amount of time...thats why i PREFER a older yorkie. one who already has basic training (i will have no problem following up on that training) i dont really want a young pup ( 12 weeks) im looking for yorkies 6 months & older...but i have no problem taking in a puppy. & its perfectly fine if the breeder didnt want to place a pup with me....if they ASSUME i cant take care of it...thats their opinion & its what they feel is best for the pup. |

ive ALWAYS...ALWAYS....ALWAYS...loved animals...especially dogs....& ive always had this interest in yorkies. as long as i can remember i wanted to be a Vet since i was 5-6 ive had goldfish...(still have him he gunna be 2 yrs old in oct) , rabbits' hamsters....i love to be around animals. ( i'm majoring in biology rite now)...& even at that age i fell in love with SPECIFICLY YORKIES!! fun fact: the reason i got my cat is because my mom didnt want to get me a yorkie. & i totally agree with you that yorkies arent made to be in your purse....i try to educate my friends about that all the time. this "teacup" propaganda saddens me!:( i will do nothing but love this dog unconditionally & give it the best life that i can give! But ill tell you this....the MAIN reason why my mother changed her mind & is allowing me to get one is because....i suffer from clynical depression & someone recommended that a dog will help out....when she told me this i automaticlly knew what breed i wanted. |
....what else would make me happier than coming home to see someone happy to see you & get non-stop kisses. yorkies offer something that humans dont.....they love you no matter what!! |
I am sure some of you may balk at this ad, but consider it a rescue. 12 WEEK OLD YORKIE |
Quote:
|
i dont know much about yorkies.... but is it possible for a 12 week old to be 3 lbs.....but end up to be 5 lbs full grown....itll be 6 lbs or more rite? because you double the weight at 12 weeks.... |

More than likely, because the pup is being advertised on Craig's list the pup comes from a BYBer who just puts two dogs together, no health testing, etc. You have no idea how this pup will turn out. Aren't all pups cute at 12 weeks of age. The ad states this little girl has had all her shots......Mmmmmm means that she began her shots too early, therefore depressing mother's immunities.... |
yea....i dont really trust puppies in ads. petfinder...terrificpets....or puppyfinder. you cant tell whos real & whos a scam :(. |

We got Mack for our teenage daughter who happens to suffer from depression. He has brought so much love to not just her but everyone he comes into contact with. Yorkies totally bring a smile to everyone. |

^^^ that alone made me smile. ;) It give me hope that I don't have to take pills or go to therapy! |
2nd update: This thread has been dead for awhile so I thought I'll resurrect it with an update from my search of my new yorkie baby: Last time I wrote.....I was waiting for a response from the breeder in albany. Well she wrote back & we spoke. Her girl had the puppies on August 31st 2 boys & 1 girl. So HOPEFULLY ill be taking one of her lil boys home around Christmas. & I say "HOPEFULLY" because my mother is going through her mood swings & having 2nd thoughts about getting a puppy. She'll say no then I'll convince her to say yes....then it'll be a no again, its an on & off thing. I've been taking on extra chores & cooking more just to get on her goodside. *sigh* as you can see I'm really determined to get this yorkie! :) I'm paying off my college tuition now so when my baby comes ill have no finacial problems & can blow my money on him! Hehehe. ;) But I'm here still learning more & more about yorkies. Looking at old threads talking about LP & ringworms.....& all kinds of medical problems....just so I can know what to do. Well on another note......I LOVE hearing crazy, wacky, sad, funny pet stories. Can some of you tell me a lil about your yorkies?....a story anything!! |
I am the breeder in albany ny and I have not received your puppy application as of yet so Im not sure why you said you did ....we also have never spoken also confused why you said we did . I think you have a lot on your plate right now and should hold off on getting a dog until your life is a bit more settled. |

Y do you feel like I'm not settled?....because I'm in college??? |
Hope u did not feel that I was saying that I'm automatically goin to get one of your puppies because we have not established any relationship yet. My post was only saying that I found a breeder that I'm interested in but dealing with things with my mom ( the main reason I did not CALL you yet....I don't want to waste your time....I want to call when I'm COMPLETELY sure). Once again I should have been more specific in my post. |
I appreciate the fact you do not want to waste my time... A puppy is a huge commitment and if your mother is having reservations then perhaps the time is not right to bring a puppy into your home you also said you have tuition to pay off and also stated you do not want a young puppy. I did not take it that you were going to automatically getting one of my pups,it is a bit of a process between breeder and potential new puppy owners and we hadnt really even scratched the surface. |
My tuition payments are almost done. So that's not an issue for me rite now. & with my momshes just really skeptical about dogs sometimes since she was bit by a pitbull when she was younger. Its not that she doesn't like dogs because I've seen how she acts around little ones like yorkies & poodles. She also has it in her mind that all they do is poop. She felt the same way about every pet I've owned....but once we got it she fell in love with them. & I totally agree with you. We haven't talked on the phone or met each other yet. Those things are DEFINATELY important to me! Because I want to know more about the person who raises my potention puppy. Maybe if we talked & I mentioned I was in college you wouldn't consider me. I was getting ahead of myself by writing that previous post. I was just excited. Now Idk y everytime I mention I'm in college people TELL ME that I don't have time for a puppy. I never said if I'm away at college or even a full time student for that matter. So how would everyone know about what time I have. I go to school 3 days a week for a few hours. Now I know TONS of adults who have ALL DAY jobs & no one was concerned about time then. I KNOW how much of a responsibility a puppy is. Training, Vet visits, walks....everything....those are things I actually look forward to. I don't want a yorkie just to say I have one this is something I wanted & research for a loooong time. :-\ |
Ooooo, I hope you find a puppy! Reading this is getting me all excited to see what you get! I feel like im on the search as well. Post pictures! |
Lol! Oh you know I will ;)....but that won't be until next summer probably. :( |
Oooooo, the waiting game how fun! *clapping* I know it's tiresome but I think it makes your heart grow fonder of the little one you choose. You'll appreciate him more! :) |

This old thread was from 6 years ago fyi. |
I see that this thread is now five pages long, so if you have gotten a puppy by now, please forgive me. But in case you haven't, I know someone who got a Yorkie from Claudia Pierro of Castleford Yorkies in N.J., and she was very happy. Her website is: Castleford Yorkshire Terriers & Maltese: Hobby Breeder, Claudia Pierro Also, I did not use her, but Pamela A. Langstein in Woodmere, LI is recommend by the YTCA. Based on her website, her dogs look beautiful. Her site is: Home Page Good luck. Quote:
