You should not feel guilty, u did not know. Just think of it as if u saved your pets from that terribly living conditions. Isn it possible that the lady has a bit of a collecter condition as I have seen on -Animal Planet- most run of the mill -puppy mill breeders would not care abet the pups after they were sold, and visit them abet! I saw the news report on tv and the police have taken her to have psychological exam.

Autumn Star so sorry that this has happened with this breeder. It almost sounds maybe like a hoarding type problem?! Like you said she is a sweet lady and had a caring heart. Even though it was wrong what was going on, it may have started with an innocent beginning. Hopefully she will get the help she needs....Daywalker's posts sounds like a mental evaluation is going to be done. Please do not worry or feel guilty. You didn't know what was going on, and when you did find out on the news, you informed us right away.

I don't think anyone would be mad at you. You love your babies and only recommended someone you thought would give the same kind of babies you have for other people to love. To be quite honest that is very kind of you. I am so sorry for the babies that were rescued and you have to trust your instincts in that the lady just got in over her head. Sometimes older people have to be saved from themselves

Wow, I can't believe the news.
Again, don't feel bad since you didn't know. But this makes me want to rescue one of those puppies now, too bad I just don't have the time to take care of another one right now .

Why would anyone "do research" which does NOT include visiting the breeder's kennel and meeting your pup's sire, dam, and littermates? If you do not do this, you do know know how the animals are being treated. You might as well buy the cruelty wholesaled pet shops.

Even if you had done a few seconds google search on this breeder, you would have seen she was kicked out of AKC for FIVE years for falsifying registrations in 1981.
