| i wanted to take two as far as texass when I took one to LA and continental wouldn't allow two in the carrier even tho one was getting off in Texas so it probably depends on the airlines. Most of the ones i checked their sites said only one dog per carrier per passenger in the cabin with a limit of two in the cabin at any time. if it is cargo or counter to counter and not in the cabin with you, they will allow two as long as the carrier (hard) is large enough for them to turn around, stand up in. Soo, just check with your carrier. |

| yeah... it depends on the airline but I had been told 2 in a carrier is OK if they were pups or one was mom and pup. But all airlines has a limit per plane. I think it's 3 per plane. So hubby 2 and you 2.... won't work. BTW... Dee... you new avatar is sweeeeet! =) |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | The airlines said 2 in one bag was okay--since the total they weigh is 6#. Itzi is a licensed service dog and actually can sit in my lap once we're on the plane. I was hoping to find one that would accommodate the two of them while walking through the airport--and for the 2 hours after getting through security--if they both want to nap. BTW I can access that Cruiser is going to be great in the ring, but I can't assess him for being a service or therapy dog....he is too young. I like the avatar too. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Can he sit in your lap because he's a service dog or just cuz you can charm the flight attendants ? How cool.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Yes, he can sit on my lap because he is a service dog. He doesn't need the bag. His carrier, is me, the human, when he needs to be out of harm's way. Cruiser on the other hand, is only 3# and has not yet been introduced to the joy of flying. If I haven't sold Dusty, I might take him as the second in the bag. That would be 3 on the plane; hmmmmmmmmmm--I'll be the little blonde with the cute dogs having the breakdown and needing the service dog..... |

I would love to see you and your 3 babies on a plane - and I can see how you'd need a service dog for that trip! Does he help w/ anxiety and such? Animals are amazing therapy for that.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | BTW, I was kidding about 2 in the carrier and bringing Itzi too. I can't figure out how I would get through security--I am sure one of them would get loose. Oh my. Yes Itzi is a licensed service and therapy dog. He has traveled with me on airplanes to Orlando, Vegas, Texas, Arizona and later this month to Kansas City. As a therapy dog we have gone to the Veteran's Hospital, Children's Hospital, the school's reading program, and the library's program for disadvantaged children/readers. As a service dog, Itzi is a Hearing assisted dog and medication dog for me--he reminds me when I need a reminder to take medications. |

My daughter flies back and forth to school in Grenada with her "service kitty". She was scared to death to fly and now that she has Spade with her she does so much better. Spade is also allowed on her lap as long as she's leashed.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | That's wonderful. Service kitty! It sounds so adorable, though I know she serves a great purpose. Animals are so grand for our health - physical, mental, spiritual!

| Dee...I just got a Celltei Backpack carrier. I got the medium to carry my two. You can also use it as a regular carrier and car seat. I figured hands free was a good idea, and ability to just carry it by a handle a plus, then a car seat too ....sold me!! I should get it soon. I'll let you know what I think and send pics.
