Flying Teapots???

I'm a flight attendant and no one ever measures the bag. It should be soft sided and squishable so that if you are on a smaller plane you could push it down a little. The middle seat on most planes has more room under the seat in front of you and some of the aisle seats won't fit a medium size sherpa carrier. So I would book a window or middle seat. Also it is very cold on the floor. I always wrap my carrier in an airline blanket before I put her under the seat so she will just settle down and go to sleep.

They don't weight or measure the bags. At least not in my experience. Just get a bag thats no bigger than a normal carryon that fits under the seat and he can lay down comfortably.

Thanks! It's great to hear about everyone's experiences. I went looking at bags today. One said it was rated for up to 22 lbs, but gosh, it sure didn't look like poor Bernie would fit.

Thanks for the info! It's great to hear from a flight attendant. Now, do you ever get dogs in the cabin who are disruptive? What if they whine and or bark? Do they get moved???

I saw the Sherpa Carriers today. I should go back and look at the Medium and see if I think Bernie would fit. If I understand you correctly, that carrier should fit in a window or middle seat.
