| I think this is a great thread and a great place to share our experiences with parks around the country. Or maybe we should start a new thread just for those who rv with their dogs. LEt's be sure to keep it going! We bought an RV for the purpose of taking our dogs with us. It's well worth buying a book that lists the dog friendly parks. The state parks in PA will allow only 2 dogs. Other parks say they allow dogs, but one in particular in TX was a nightmare! Then another in PA, that took us hours off the beaten path was just as bad..... they wouldn't even let us stay! Like we wanted to when they chewed us out because a dog peed on the mile long walk to the dog park! Buy a book, be sure of what the park will allow. Sometimes we have to boondock because there are just no dog friendly parks in the area. Trish |

| I will be watching this thread. We just booked an RV rental to make the trip from California to Kansas City for the meetup in June. We were planning on driving our SUV which we do all the time with our dogs, but never that far. I think an RV will be much more comfortable, plus we save the cost of motel rooms at night. We still plan to stay at the hotel in Kansas City tho. Sonya

| Yes, there should be a thread started for RV'ers. We have been to Ft. Wilderness many times. It is a beautiful place. We winter in our coach from January to May at a place called Riverbend Motorcoach Resort. It's in LaBelle, Florida (a short distance from Ft. Myers). It gives you soooo much freedom with your dog. And yes, I am also careful of other dogs. Sometimes people say that their dog is friendly, but you just never know. It pays to be cautious. We usually take Bomber with us when we go places, but if we have to leave him in the coach, we make sure that our neighbors are aware that we are gone. So that if something happens, they know to get him out of the coach. In the event that power is lost, our generator automatically comes on, which keeps the air conditioners going. Very important here in Florida, as these coaches can heat up quickly.
