Anyone RVed at Disney World with their dogs? I visit Disney World at least once or twice a year- but never with Britney and Brooklyn. I'd LOVE to take a trip over Christmas with them. I'd much rather stay on Disney property as opposed to elsewhere. However, the only place that allows pets in the RV area at Fort Wilderness. Anyone been? How did you like it? I don't own a RV- so I'd most likely rent one. Anyone have any experience with that? |

We went to Disney and stayed at the Fort Wilderness camp ground in October and we LOVED it!!! We just bought a RV in September and that was our first trip in it and it was so much fun. The camp ground is wonderful...of course being Disney I wouldn't expect anything less than wonderful. We did not take the dogs with us in October because we were new at it and didn't know what to expect but we will definetly be taking them next trip. There are different pet loops and we would take our golf cart throught the pet loops everyday and night just to see all the dogs. There is a kennel too, and we saw staff outside in the fence playing with the dogs. I am not sure but I think you can take your dogs to the kennel when you leave and pick them up in the evening or whenever you get back to the camp site. I can not wait to get back to Disney with the RV...that is one of the best trips I have ever taken. Also, be sure to plan to stay at the camp ground for a day or two to enjoy all the things you can do there. We planned a park for every day and we were really tired and we did not get to just enjoy the camp ground. Next time we are going to stay longer and just chill out at the campground for 2-3 days. You can rent boats and there is a sandy beach and 2 or 3 pools, and fishing in the chanels. We took a crock pot and we put a chuck roast and veggies in the morning and that evening we had supper ready. We grilled one night. Most nights we were really full from eating at the parks all day... so we just snacked in the evening. I think that you are the one that gave me the DIS forum. I read the posts on there everyday before we left and so I was pretty prepared....So thanks for recommending that... |

4 Attachment(s) Well, we are big time into RV'ing and we love it!!! We were at Disney World this time last year but we did not stay in the park. We stayed very close by but I do not recall the name of the RV park. Everyone has their dogs in RV parks....it is so much fun!!! We have met so many new Yorkie friends in RV parks!!! We do not like staying in hotel rooms so RV'ing is great for us. Also we love RV'ing because we see lots of different places. Yes, driving something this large does take some adjusting to and some planning but it is a lot easier than you would think. I drive ours all the time and we even tow a vehicle which makes us over 60 feet long. Ours has tons of room on the inside....once you are parked the sides slide out to give you lots or room in the inside. Ours has anything and everything one could ever need...even satellite TV, washer & dryer, outdoor entertainment center, etc.... I will attach a couple of pictures. The last picture is a my little boy with his sign for "Yappy Hour" for dogs in an RV park we were in. Just thought it was cute...."Yappy Hour"!!! If anyone has any questions about RV'ing just PM....I will help if I can!!! |

Wow, nice rig!!!!! :D :D we just bought a 31ft C class. We have a home and also a park model place so we needed something for just traveling and going back and forth.. This is pretty darn nice.. I am sure you will have a great time with the dogs at disney... pooh's mum |

What a great question! Like you we don't have an RV but have thought about renting one to take the furkids along. We've been rv-ing with my folks though, and I gotta say... Rhonda, that is one incredible RV. Nothing like I've stayed in!!! Love to hear about all of your trips, and if you decide to go will look forward to hearing about it. |

I can't believe so many people are into RVing. I must admit, I don't know of anyone who RVs or has an RV- so I wasn't sure if I would get any responses here. Rhonda, that thing is huge! It looks the same size/bigger than my apartment! :D |

We haven't taken the trip to Disney yet but it's on our list of places to go. We have a 27' pull behind trailer and we love it. Sugar loves to go camping. When we're inside she lays on the couch w/ my girls & watches tv, she "helps" us when we cook-out (you wouldn't think she'd beg so much since she never gets people food), and she loves to go on walks/trails & meet other people & dogs. We've had a few close calls with other dogs though so I tend to pick her up now when we see another dog until I know if it's going to think she's a snack or if it's friendly. We keep her crate in the trailer for the few times that we leave her in it alone (w/ heat or a/c on) but she usually goes everywhere with us. She's a true camping dog! |

Something I thought of... Can anyone recommend any reliable rental companies? I'd rather go with a company that someone has used and were happy with as opposed to some random rental company as I'm VERY picky. I'd prefer if I could have the RV delivered and set up so it'd be great if I could find a rental company that does that. :) |

http://www.petvacationhomes.com/sear...index_191.html Perhaps if you dig around you might find a cabin within an RV park. I checked the websites of several campgrounds in Orlando...most of them had cabins but they did not allow pets but I did not check all of them. |

We, too, are a bit precautionary when it comes to other dogs at campgrounds. We usually use the stroller if we are in an area that has many people/dogs. It really makes it easier and less stressful on us AND the dogs. Of course, they LOVE their walks, too! It is fortunate that I am an early riser and so we try to do that early in the morning before everyone else gets started!:) |
