| I need help with taking a trip with my baby I should go to my sister's 50th wedding anniversary, I was her Maid of Honor. It is a 9 hour trip because we have to drive. My Tricksie is so attached to me and me to her. I would have to leave her in a hotel room, she has a playpen with toys, treats and her bed. The Hotel will be 11 miles away and I don't think I could enjoy the anniversary party because I would worry about my Baby. Am I retarded???

| I think you have every right to be concerned about leaving your dog. Is the hotel ok with you leaving your baby in the room -- I know some aren't and there are penalties if the know you do. I always worry that all those folks with keys to your hotel room would walk away with an ani,al & no one would know who it is. Is it possible to arrange for a dog sitter during the party or is there doggie day care available somewhere nearby?

| another idea after I hit reply What about checking to see if someone on YT lives nearby who would watch your baby for a short while when you are at the party?? I've done that, when traveling and made a friend here on yt that way. I would think if your sister lives in the community, she might be able to help you find some good care.

Also, have you thought about a seat belt for dogs? My husband and I have one for Marty and it works really well. I worry a lot less knowing that he would be safe if there was an accident. | |
