Marty has traveled with us several times on long trips. We've never stopped at a restaurant because I just refuse to leave him in the car. Too many bad things could happen and I love him way too much to chance it. We simply go through a drive-thru. He's usually very interested in the food, but we manage. lol
Also, have you thought about a seat belt for dogs? My husband and I have one for Marty and it works really well. I worry a lot less knowing that he would be safe if there was an accident.
