I am continuing to pray that your mom gets stronger and better, that her body heals, and that she is soon free from pain. I'm so happy that she has improved some. |
Just seeing this, I'm glad she is improving today. Prayers..... |
Sandy, ask your doctors if they would strongly consider IPPB treatments....that is breathing treatments where medication is delivered under pressure, ....your momma puts a mouth piece in her mouth and clamps her lips around the mouthpiece, then when she takes in a breath, the machine PUSHES the medicated vapor into her lungs, and she has to exert some effore to exhale. This type of breathing treatment expands her lungs soooooo much better....they like to slap a mask on her and then go to the next patient, and your momma just continues to take those tiny little shallow breaths, not even getting the medication deep into her lungs where the pneumonia is. Make these people work for their money....they need to stand there and encourage your momma to breathe in on that IPPB (Intermittant Positive Pressure Breathing) machine, breathe in deeply, now blow out against the machine...this forces the medication down to the bottom of her lungs, helps her get "behind" that mucus that is all down in the lower part of her lungs, and then builds up her strength in her lungs when she blows against the machine to shut it off. Ask the docs why this type of breathing treatment would be contraindicated in her case? They may not be able to give you an answer, and she will get these treatments, which will help her immensely.... |
Yorkiemom1, thank you for the suggestion. I will ask about it tomorrow. At this point she can't be moved at all because muscle spasms start and the pain is unbearable. The nurses have asked for a family meeting tomorrow to discuss Hospice and other possibilities, and my heart sank. However she is eating and has a good attitude, and I'm still holding hope that she will pull out of this and get to come home. |
Sending my best and hoping she can go home soon. |
Prayers for your mom and for you Sandy. (Just seeing this.) |
Praying for much improvement for your Mom. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, K |
Sandy, I am keeping your Mom in my prayers that she gets well. Judy (yorkiemom1) has great advice and hope you can see that the nurses and doctors will be on board with the suggestions. Know that your Mom is not far from my thoughts and prayers. |
sending prayers for continued improvement for your mom. |
dog Praying for your dear mom. May the healing hand of the Lord be upon her and angels around comforting her as she is in the hospital. May you trust her life to Jesus who never leaves us alone and promises to come along side us and help us through our trials. Not our will but Thine be done. |

Just seeing this, hope your Mother gets better real soon! |
Update Monday Well, Mom is still hanging in there, not much change. Still heavily medicated for pain & spasms, and pneumonia is less of a worry but now worried about fluid in lungs and around heart. Vitals are good and she is able to eat, so that's good. Treatment will continue for now, and they aren't talking about Hospice yet. I'm still hoping she will continue to improve. I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and support. |
Bless your heart Sandy, I can only imagine what you're going through. Continuing to pray for you and your Mom. |
I am happy to hear your mom is able to eat and that her vitals are good. Continuing to pray for her and your family that each day will bring positive signs of improvement and good news. |
