Need prayers for my Momma My dear Mother (Pat) is in critical condition in the hospital with pneumonia, and could really use some prayers to help her pull through. I've seen Yorkie Talk Prayers work miracles, and that is what is needed here. Many thanks. |

Thank you all for prayers, they truly help her and help me cope. She made it through the night, and they are taking xrays to check her progress; status still critical. She is in a great deal of pain after falling in her kitchen a week ago (no broken bones though), so she's knocked out with pain meds. My mom is "just" 82, and I am so not ready to lose her. |
I hope the X-rays show improvement and the meds she is on will do their work. Thank God she didn't break any bones in her fall. Praying and sending positive thoughts to your Mom and you. Hugs, Dyan |

Your poor mom! I'm glad she did not break any bones in her fall. Praying her condition will be upgraded soon and that she will be on the road to recovery. I went through this with my dad not too long ago, and I know how hard pneumonia can be on a person. |

I was checking in to see how your little momma is progressing....be sure they are doing breathing treatments, some kind of pulmonary therapy like "back clapping" to move that mucus from her lungs, and that they are turning her at least every two hours and they dont let her lay still....it is very easy to let these precious little seniors just lay in one comfortable spot, if turning them hurts....but they really need to do this.....still praying for your mom...... |
Yorkiemom1, so true. I just told my brothers this, and I think the reason she got pneumonia in the first place was she has been on pain meds for a week and just sleeping all the time. They have been doing some treatment that includes a mask periodically. She is in too much pain to move much or to take deep breaths. She can't cough up anything (due to pain) to test if it is bacterial or viral. She has made a slight improvement, and was able to sit up and eat a little today. Her case is complicated as she had Crohns for 3 years, and Plasma Cell Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) for 1 year, and mild emphysema. Hard to believe that she was so vital and active, playing golf up until 16 months ago, probably 155#, and is now mostly bedridden and 103#. We still want her with us though, and appreciate all the prayers and support. |

Thank you dear friends for your support. Mom is slightly improved today, and that's good enough for now. Praying that this will continue as it is pretty much a miracle that she came through the last 48 hrs. On Friday doctors said they had done all they could for her and all we could do is pray. That we did. Thank you all for helping with that, it is working. |
