If you want to talk you know where to find me.
Crystal, you always center me. I tend to go fly off in the worst case scenario at the drop of a hat where this dog is concerned but you are right, of course. I had read that somewhere but forgotten it and here is his first real bout since his bad symptoms in the spring and I'm panicking that he's maybe dealing with something awful. If it weren't for my eye and back, we'd already have been to the ER vet but I'm truly in such pain with this back and leg pain, and the eye constraints of taking it easy tonight and no straining, I'm forced into trying to nurse him through this tonight. If only we weren't out of Cerenia for nausea but we are! No diarrhea at all and he's not acting terribly sick or just standing in place with his little head hanging down as he did in the past when he was so nauseated before his diagnosis. I'm feeling better now - it's words from Crystal that can bring me down when I'm about to fly off into the stratosphere. I swear, I don't know how breeders or Ladyjane does it with several dogs sick at once - or even how I used to do it back in the day when I rescued and nursed any number of sick dogs at once - very, very ill and starving dogs, even. Something drastic happened to me once I lost Jilly and it wasn't good. I turned chicken. Ever since then, I'm scared to death when a dog is ill. Almost didn't get another dog due to just fear of losing it like Jilly! Now with Tibbe I'm a nut - worry endlessly about him. It's sillier than silly and I should start now to get a grip. As long as I have you all, maybe I'll make it without a breakdown over this dog and his problems!!!!!!! He's such a perfect little love and the thought of him being sick or suffering or losing him is just too much. He's such a part of me! We're on the same wave length on everything. He thinks of things before I do and predicts my every step. He's always there for me no matter what - always kind and caring. He's like a tiny little person!

He took 1/4 cc Pedialyte syringed in the side pocket of his mouth - afraid to try more the firs time - and just barked at the TV(good sign). Hasn't retched since 7:52 pm session! Will give him another 1/4 - 1/2 cc Ped. in 30 - 40 mins. if he keeps this down. It's almost 3 hours since he last retched!!! Progress!

Eye getting downright sharper than ever by now. The dilation and other meds have all worn off and all the cloudiness gone and that's when doc said the vision would really start to improve. Some floating things in the vitreous but was told those are normal from the surgery and resorb in time. Amazing results and last night I was so scared it wouldn't help! Prayer and a good surgeon and YT!!! Now if Tibbe just gets better!

Jeanie, I am very happy to hear your surgery went beautifully and that your eyesight has improved tremendously. I can imagine how wonderful that is for you!

Praying your back feels better in the morning, and that Tibbe is feeling better after a night of rest with his mom home.

Jeanie, I am glad to hear that you are doing well and that the surgery was a success. Poor Tibbie, Im sure you are so stressed out by not being able to get him to the vet in your condition. It looks like you are on top of it and are doing a great job of taking care of him and that's Good. I hope he feels better soon !

Tibbe was up reverse sneezing about 11:12 pm last night but slept all night so I even got some sleep. Tibbe didn't demand his breakfast this morning but did eat at 7:36 am and has kept it down. It was mostly his canned hepatic, a few pieces of soaked Hill's I/D GI kibble and lots of water to help hydrate him. He reverse sneezed some when he first started eating but might have been from lapping the soupy mixture so fast. I made him stop after 1/2 and we waited about 25 mins. and then he ate the rest. So far, he's keeping it down. Not terribly frisky this morning but he often sleeps in or sleeps a good portion of the morning. I cancelled his vet appt. this am for an on-demand appt. if he gets sick again due to needing to deal with this back and staying down.

He did eat two pieces of corn off the floor when I spilled a bowl and licked a bit of milk I allowed him to have - like 1/4 teaspoon - both about mid-week. Could those two things have caused this, I wonder? Those are the first times he's ever had anything but his half-hepatic/half-Hill's I/D GI diet since his diagnosis of prob. MVD this spring and he subsequently gets sick. I'm tending to think they are connected so no more adventuring of anything else!

I wish the world could see as well as I'm seeing this morning! I had no idea my vision had gotten so bad and how slowly it must have happened. I thought my TV had gone bad it was so pale, couldn't hardly read books or internet and light reflected badly. This morning everything is in super HD, brilliant, jewel-toned and crisp-edged, finely detailed! Never knew the world was so beautiful. Even after cataract surgery with lens implants, it wasn't like this!!!!!!!!!! Everything is like a movie on the theater screen - so bright and intense and contrasting. Before, everything looked pale and not very clear. Downside: My house is dirty! I haven't been cleaning all that well as I couldn't see things that clearly! Ugh! And Oh, I'm way older looking in the mirror than yesterday before surgery! Upside: Everything else looks 3-D and beautiful. Tibbe is gorgeous! His eyes are deep brown and liquid and true. His fur is multi-colored and rich looking. And he's cute cute cute in all his features! I can even see his toenails from the end of the couch where he's sleeping! The backyard looks so pretty and green. I was watching a cooking TV show in HD a while ago and could see such detail it was just amazing it made me so hungry. Even could see the flour granules dusted along the edges! And that's just with one eye essentially as the right is legally blind and only has mainly peripheral vision with little undamaged macula and it's got the cloudy posterior capsule problem also. My surgery to correct it's capsule cloudiness will be in two weeks! Then the muscle-correction surgery on it a few weeks later and I won't see double as much, hopefully, and will have better depth perception. I really wish everyone could see like this - but, maybe you all can and it is just some of us that weren't able to!!! And I wonder if my vision will stay like this? I wish with all my heart it would. It would be so wonderful to get to see like this all the time. Even reading books may be possible again once the double vision is corrected more. Words jump off the page today whereas just yesterday morning the ink looked gray and pale, fuzzy. Now words are bright, distinct and easy to read if I didn't see a second of each word just a little above and to the right which is a little distracting(haha). Well, maybe that can get fixed too and I can see extra great before too long, even with that bad right eye macula. YT looks bright, crisp and easy to read. I'ts almost too bright! Never thought I'd say that but no real pale glare like I used to have! Wow. Modern medicine and praying people are an amazing combination. Thank you all for your prayers and caring and I'm so humbled and grateful can't even say how great this eye is!!! Now, if Tibbe will go ahead and get better - things will be amazingly fantastic.

Yay for YOU! So glad the surgery was a success! Praying now for your back to heal... Do you think Tibbe was affected by stress from you going for surgery?

I have been so worried about you and Tibbe. I'm still hoping that, when Tibbe sees his mom feeling better, he will act like the Tibbe you have been describing since he is on his hepatic diet. I pray that he gets better and that you can soon be free of the terrible pain you are in. It was really exciting to read how much your surgery has helped you. I hope your next two on your right eye will be just as successful. I loved hearing you describe being able to see Tibbe. Just the sparkle in Katie's eyes uplifts me a great deal, so I understand how you are feeling. My eyes are not as good as they were, and I can't seem to adjust well to reading glasses. Using my Kindle and Ipad has helped that, but I also have to read so many textbooks, so I still read lots of traditional books. Rest up, and please feel better.

Tibbe is asking for his kibble treats and has played quite a bit today! I'm so thrilled but can't stop watching him for any sign of anything so we can get to the vet before they close. So far so good.

EYESIGHT is awesome!!! I'd gotten to the point I didn't watch much but news shows and Dateline, mystery type shows and things with a good narrative where watching didn't much matter but today I'm watching DIY, cooking, travel channel, movie channels and even looked in the ? Kardashian show - have never seen that but it was in Greece and the scenes were glorious!!! I've been missing so very much that life has to offer with those old eyes.

Lisa, get in to see your doctor and see if there is ANYTHING to be done to help your eyesight. Had I known before a couple Thursdays ago that I had developed such a bad problem, I would have done this forever ago. I was so scared yesterday before surgery as I had known just excellent eyesight after cataract surgery/lens implants but apparently it did start to go south with the clouding of the posterior capsule soon afterward now that I think back. But I think I must have always had some posterior capsular clouding as even the cataract/new corrective lens implants didn't give me this kind of extremely detailed or color-sensitive vision. This is like watching HDTV over regular TV all the time. This kind of vision is something you'd dream of if you knew it was out there - but I didn't. You only know what you experience and have no idea that there is something way, way, way, way, way better until you have it. If I were a wealthy person, I would immediately send my eye surgeon a $1,000,000,000.00 check as a bonus just for giving me this time. It may not last to this degree of clarity and color and there could be complications down the road from this surgery such as a detached retina and some other things but I would have lost vision without the surgery in a year or so so I had no choice; but golly, for the time being, this is just incredible! I just had no idea what I was missing in life! Colors are so deep, bright, things so clear, detailed, words on pages are easy to read and pop out. I wonder if most people see like this and always have? Even as a young person I never saw things like this. I'd sure encourage anyone not seeing all that great to get to the eye specialist and get checked out. Sure hope it can last.

So thankful your eyesight is better! Now little Tibbe I hope he is feeling well and eating and playing. He must have sensed your eye troubles and now you can relax and feel better and concentrate on him. Bless him and may he be healed up soon Love that little face you post on your photo on the forum.
