| Please say some prayers for my grandpa... We just found out a few weeks ago that my grandfather had bladder cancer. As a precaution, the doctors felt it was necessary to scan his lungs and a few other areas to see if it has spread while they discussed treatment plans. Well, after going through multiple doctor consultations, we found out that my grandfather also has malignant tumors in his right lung on top of bladder cancer. This is foreign to all of us. My family is known for heart issues, and we're always taking precautions for such. So, this diagnosis has just thrown us all for a loop. I never thought my "healthy" grandpa (my Dad's dad), the one who showed my brother and I how to water ski, and tube...Who took us jet skiing, who showed me how to bait a hook and catch a fish, would ever just look so frail and terrified. My grandpa only has 4 grand children, my brother (28) and I (24) being the oldest. So, we all went out to dinner with him, where he insisted that he paid and was his typical, old school self. But you could just tell by the look on his face, that he's downright so frightened. I told him that I could disguise Gizmo as a PAWS dog and bring him in during his first round of cemo tomorrow, and that really made him laugh. - My grandpa is an avid animal lover (especially dogs) and was known for rescuing strays and always allowed us to bring our dogs to work with us when we had the family business. When we were leaving the restaurant, I was getting in my car and I could hear the fear in my grandpa's voice as my Dad asked him if he was scared. He said, "Never been so scared in my life." So, I ran around the car, gave my grandpa a big hug, and said "I'll be saying my prayers all day tomorrow, I love you". And he, never being a big hugger, hugged me back and said, "Thanks kiddo, I love you too.." And I had to run back to my car before I bust out in tears. My strong, business owner, fish catching, water skiing grandpa, looked so frail and scared. If it's not too much to ask, please keep my Grandpa in your thoughts and prayers. His first round of cemo is tomorrow at 9:00 AM and we are all thinking about him. I don't know where my grandpa's believes are, but my prayers are that not only is he healed, but if the Lord does decide to take him, that I will see him at the gates when the Lord takes me too. Thanks ladies, and God bless.

| Taryn, your grandpa is in my prayers. I know it hurts to see a loved one, someone who has been so strong and vigorous in life, look frail and scared. I'm glad you shared a hug with him, and dinner with family. Praying that he does well with his chemo.

| I will surely be praying for your grandpa and hoping that he can have a miracle. Hopefully, his chemo and meds can defeat this thing! He's in for a very tough battle so our prayers will be plenty but many do defeat this terrible disease.

| I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I'm just now seeing this and hope his first round of Chemo went well. I went through this with my dad and it was quite a shock when we first found out. The best advice I can give you is just to be there for him, let him know how much you love him and most importantly be willing to listen when "he" decides he wants to talk. Big Hugs and I will definitely be keeping your family in my prayers.

| I don't know how I missed this. I hope your grandpa does well with chemo. Your post made me tear up. I was really close with grandpa, he practically raised me and my younger brother. It was really hard to see him sick and frail. Hopefully your grandpa will get better with the treatments. How did he find out about it in the first place? And pain or anything? My step-grandma on my mom's side (my mom was adopted, so not my blood grandma) passed from breast cancer, very rare for Asian women actually. She didn't speak up about the pain until it was too late, and it had spread into her spine, bones and lungs. We didn't even know she was sick. So hopefully your grandpa caught it in time for treatment. Keep us updated, I will be sending good thoughts to you and your family.
