I am glad you are feeling a tad better. When do you get your results? Still keeping you in my prayers.
Michelle said what I was thinking. Sorry you had to go through all that and I am keeping you in my prayers.

Oh Kathy, I've been away and am just now seeing this. I'm so sorry for everything that you have been going through. I pray that you have the answers that you need soon and that a treatment can be found that will give you relief. I'm sorry you were treated so poorly. Gentle hugs, my friend.

After an hour I couldn't stand sitting in their chairs anymore, and said to DH, Come on, I'm going home! I had started getting numb in different areas on my face and head, like it was traveling around, and I felt pressure behind both eyes, and felt nauseous. I walked up to the receptionist and said I was sorry but I had to go. (Oh, Plus the whole time waiting, I kept hearing, 'Oh she was late...' Well yes I was freaking late, I can barely move!') I wake up different every day, and today was just not a real good day.

She says, I'll have to give you a refund... I said Fine... I will reschedule, I just can't sit here, I can't get comfortable and the pressure in my head is increasing. She said it shouldn't be too much longer. So I asked her to find out exactly how much longer it would take... she called in the back and they said 15-25 minutes. I said I would try to wait, but if I got worse I was leaving. I thought I should just walk across the street to the ER, and get it done that way. Then finally they called my name.

I follow the girl to the back, she directs me to a dressing room. I don't have to remove anything (knew that was coming so I wore an undershirt today) and then I hear again, 'That's the one that was late!' X 3 and no one was overly friendly, more like barely tolerating me bc I was LATE! Then she asks me something as I follow her down the hallway, I can't hear her bc my ears are clogged from the pressure in my head, so I ask her to repeat what she said. She stops abruptly and turns and rolls her eyes, and says, I asked, What is your name? I said my ears are clogged, I couldn't hear you, I'm sorry. My name is Kathy...

Just know, I do respect others time and realize it is valueable, but know too that I do not have total control over everything in my life. I can't control daycare buses and drivers, or handicapped children with monster attitudes, or when DH can or cannot get off the toilet, or how I'm going to feel in the morning, or if I can even move about once I do get up!

And if I had been on time and somone else was late, but their appt was before mine, I have no problem letting them go in front of me. I've let people get in line in front of me at the grocery store, even pitched in for their groceries when they've come up a few dollars short.

Anyway, the MRI tech was nice and we did get it done. I just hope they don't 'forget' to give the results to my doctor bc I was having a not so great day!

Sorry for the rant.... I've learned my lesson: If I'm going to be late, call and cancel the appt!

I am sorry you had to go through this. These people are in the medical field and they are handling people with injuries etc. You were 10 minutes late, could have been traffic, anything. Some things cannot be helped. In no way should you have been treated that way. You are a paying cutomer and I would defiantly do as lillymae says and report this place.

This makes me so mad, and another thing. It is not everyones business in that place that you were late. They need to review the privacy laws, they are telling everyone there, oh that is the one that was late. There is laws against that. I hope you call.

I Hope you called and filed a complaint. And Im glad to report it was not my handicapped teenage child with monster attitudes that made you late to your appt. He did however make himself late to school that day! LOL I would have told them to shut up and get to work! All the whinning they did made them LATER on their schedule. Definately call and file report. Im glad I wasnt there... I have no ability to put up with rude people.. Hope you get the test done and can get some relief very soon.

Kathy have you gotten the results from the MRI. I am keeping you in prayer that it is not anything serious and that you will be feeling all well soon.

So sorry for all that you have gone through and what happened prior to getting the MRI, please know this SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE TOP PERSON WHERE YOU HAD IT DONE.

Sending big hug and continued prayers for you,
Patti and Jack

Thank you all... I will complain tomorrow... I still have a bit of a headache and don't feel like talking today.

My doctor did call with the MRI results... My brain is fine, but there is a bulging disk in my neck, and she wants me to go to therapy for it. So I'll be calling them tomorrow too! Thanks again for all the prayers and positive thoughts.

I am so sorry you were treated that way Kathy I would definitely call and complain. Hopefully therapy will help with the bulging disk.

Never did see your results so had to do a search and find this. So glad to hear it is nothing horrible like brain tumor or something! It could be the sprain of your neck when you lifting that cart is what caused the bulging disk. Are you a sewer or someone who works with their head/neck/shoulders in one position for a prolonged period, sits for a long time at the computer or does something fairly routinely that causes you to put your head back quite a bit?

Yes, YT and sewing are my life! Oh and I know, I am so much less worried now knowing what it is. It's still a odd sensation though. And the weird thing is, if you go out at night an look straight up at the stars in the sky... that is the position I feel most comfortable in. So when I take a break, I lean back in my chair and lean my head back (and 9 times out of 10 I fall asleep). Just seems like an odd position to feel good in after any length of time, lol. It does bother me to sew or YT for too long at one time. When it gets bad I feel like I just have to go lay down, but sometimes that not real comfortable either, but it takes the weight off my neck and spine.

I called about the therapy today. Boy is that going to be expensive. I have an appt for Monday evening. I have no idea what they're going to have me do, lol.

I'll tell you one thing for sure, when I see kids fooling around in WalMart, I turn and walk quickly in the opposite direction, even if they're in an area where I need something. I wait till they move on, then go back for what I need, lol.

I'm so sorry for all the aggravation, pain and expense you've been through. You don't deserve it. We need you better soon , or YT won't be the same if you have to cut back on your time here. I know you have so much on your plate right now, but please try to get some rest throughout the day. Hugs and prayers sent your way.

I don't know if this would apply to your specific condition but I used to work for a cervical spine ortho who preached that hyperextension of the neck and working at tasks with the neck in one position for prolonged periods would both keep a cervical spine sprain/strain irritated and inhibit healing. If you will Google hyperextension of the cervical spine or the neck, you will see that mostly it is contraindicated online by reputable medical sites. I know it is with most orthopedics as I've read so many medical reports on cervical injuries/disk disease. Hyperextension really causes the facets/foramen(especially is compromised by arthritic changes due to injury/age) to crunch down on various nerves/capillaries, particularly a problem after the neck has been weakened by an injury, over stretches the muscles that are weakened and just causes little reinjuries when done. Sitting for prolonged periods with an newly injured or chronic neck strain/sprain will allow swelling in areas of irritation and more pressure on nerves so regular shrugging of shoulders & gentle prescribed neck movements, getting up, walking around is usually recommended.

Don't know if you have this type of condition in your case but if you have a bulging cervical disk, you could have a chronic strain/sprain of the cervical spine. Paresthesias in the arms/head, dizziness/nausea, headaches & tinnitus are sometimes pretty common in a chronic strain/sprain aside from the neck pain, tightness and weakness. I hope you can get some relief with your treatment. It sounds like you have been pretty miserable with this. God bless and hugs.

I did some 'research' and I'm very nervous as this type of injury goes undiagnosed very often, and a few other seemingly unrelated symptoms I've been having of late may actually be related to this. I plan to see what the therapist says, I'm not sure even which vertebra/disk is affected.

I do change positions frequently, and I try not to overdo anything. The initial injury was 3-4 years ago, I've had numbness in my head since then, but only recently in the last few weeks it has become worse. I don't know if I did something to cause it to become worse or not, nothing I can put my finger on.

Thanks for your kind words.... I'm afraid to try any kind of brace till I know more about what's going on and what the therapist says to do for it. From what I read, decompression of the spine is one treatment option (traction?) If they make me taller I'll have to rehem all my pants, lol.
