| The dreaded decision I am new to this site. I joined on 4/8 hoping to share the joy of owning three yorkies. With much heartache, I am now sharing the loss of one of my girls. Without any warning, my Abby stopped eating. Very strange. I could tell she was interested because she kept coming back. I hand feed my girls. So I tried to look in her mouth. I felt she had a lump in her throat and swollen glands. Called the vet, couldn't get an appt till next day. Overnight, she got worse, by morning I was going to the vet without an appt. After a long day, my husband and I made the decision to put her down. I can't believe this could happen so fast. My 3 cuties are now two lost souls, one of the girls is her baby. Has anyone ever seen grief in their dogs eyes? How can I help her.? Is the sparkle gone forever? Holly and her mommy were best friends. They did everything together. I never realized what a leader my Abby was. She was not the Alpha, but she was the social director. She was always on the go, smelling and investigating everything. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. I am sorry to hear about Abby. When my pom died. one of my yorkies that was close to her seemed depressed for a few weeks. It may take a little time but I do think they get back to their normal self.

| I'm so sorry about the loss of your Abby. I hope your girls get over the loss quickly and can get back to being themselves, so sad. Did you find out what was wrong with her, that made her go downhill so rapidly?

Years ago when we had to take our Nicki and came home without her, our other Dobie Gretta knew and she Kept going around the vehicle and would not stop, she wouldn't 't eat, I know what your Holly is going through. Gretta seemed to cling to the both of us afterwards, it is so hard to make that last visit to the vet, and it takes a real loving heart to do what one must. my prayers for you too. Glad you found the YT Family site here. Hugs, Patti and Jack | |

| I am so so sorry for your loss. When we lost Sasha in September it was really hard on Sophie she looked for her everywhere. I had her little collar with her bell on it and when Sophie heard it ring she jumped up looking for her wagging her tail! it eas so sad! But it will get better I promise. Just always remember the good times with her.

| I am so sorry for your loss. When I joined YT I had lost one of my sweet boys suddenly. His twin brother was very effected by him being gone. It did take some time but Buddie came around and is doing so much better. I spent extra time with him and it helped the both of us. I hope that you all will find healing in time. |

| So sorry for your loss! Did they ever find out what was wrong with her? Is it something that the other dogs could catch? That must be so scary! I think that dogs tend to live in the moment... they are missing her now and probably wondering what happened to her but I think that our dogs bounce back quicker than we do.... |
