Patti I think you need someone like your Daughter or Son to call Ken's Oncologist and get better communication with him set up for you. Not only does Ken need closer contact with him but it is so important that you do also. There should never be any lack of communication between a Dr. And his patient or caregiver. It is shamefull for any lack of care from any medical staff, I just pray that things are going to turn around, hopefully Ken did better today and can keep hydrated and somehow get more nutrition.

Patti, please feel you can call me whatever hour it is, don't hesitate . Ken is so Blessed to have you as his wife, I pray things get better.

Anyone who sees this tonight, please pray for Patti and Ken. Ken is not doing well and Patti is so scared and all alone there. I feel so terribly bad and wish I was there to be of support.

I am so sad to read that Ken isn't doing well. Many prayers do still continue for them both daily.

Thanks everyone! Ken has not eaten in 4 days, can't take his medicine without throwing it up. I am taking him to the cancer center today for hydration and will have them call the oncologist to see about admitting him. I also need to see about getting him a wheel chair as I can barely move him in and out of the house anymore.

It sounds like he needs to be in the hospital where he can be kept as comfortable as possible & get adequate hydration & calories. I'm so sad to hear you all are going through this terrible trial & know your energy must be far past its limits. I would agree with Patti in bringing in advocates to help you deal with Ken's doctors if they are not responsive to you. Perhaps if he gets admitted, you could speak with the hospital Social Worker assigned to Ken, the department head of Patient Relations & the Chaplain to help you in addition to family. My prayers continue for you two. I think of you frequently during the day & say a silent prayer plus mornings and at bedtime.
