| ![]() His name is Duke, and he hasn't eaten in three, not almost four days, normally he'd eat a shoe. BIL thinks some kind of stomach ulcer. He took him to a few vets and they wanted to run lots of expensive tests, but not one of them suggested bloodwork! ![]() He said he wouldn't take any of the pills, but will drink water. I told him the crush and syringe trick which is working, and I also told him about pumpkin, though he doesn't seem to want to try it. I hope he can pull through, he is only 6 years old. ![]() PS, he is not treated like our yorkies, out in the backyard all day, bored, and bull terriers need to be stimulated. Hardly gets walked. ![]()

| ![]() Can't they at least take an x-ray to rule out an obstruction ? |

| ![]() That's what I thought too, obstruction, but he can't afford to pay the xray. He is looking at rescues today.

| ![]() He ate a bit of boiled chicken, and half a hot dog (yuck I know, but at least it's something). He is drinking a bit of water but not much. Has diarhea now, but not much bc he hasn't eaten hardly a thing since Sunday. BIL is still trying to crush and squirt method for the meds. He can't get him in rescue, they are all full. ![]()

| ![]() Duke has passed away. ![]() It was kidney failure. I read up online a bit on it, and apparently bull terriers are prone to it. It is something that can come up as early as 2 yrs old, sometimes even as just a pup of 6 months. Medication can prolong their life a bit, but there is no cure for it. It is not simply treating a disease, it is the actual kidneys malfunction and break down and fail. Bullies are also very strong, so they don't show pain until it's very bad. Rescue would not have been able to save this big guy. He was already too far gone once BIL even noticed anything was wrong. I was very surprised to read that the life expectancy of bullies are only about 6-8 yrs long. Duke was 6. RIP Duke. ![]()
