That's really good news to hear that he's doing better this soon. Having gone through this with my Mother I know that unless it's massive they slowly continue to improve, especially with good rehab. Special prayers for Norman, Claire and all the family.

Thank you everyone for all of your support and prayers for Norman and Claire. I saw her today and she is looking pretty worn out. Norman is still about the same. He doesn't have any blood on his brain, but is having some swelling, thus a headache pretty much all of the time. The doctor was going to try a new medication to help with the headaches. One of their daughters from Florida and her family were visiting this weekend. Claire went to the Yorkie Meet-Up with us while they visited Norman this afternoon. I think she enjoyed being with all the pups and of course April, Makensie and Calleigh. It seemed to be good for her. She asked me to thank everyone for all of their positive thoughts and prayers. You are such a good friend, I hope Claire takes care of herself through this, it sounds like Norman is in good hands.

I'm just stopping by with a quick update. The doctors put Norman on a new med for the headaches. Claire said he feeling much better. She said since the headaches have subsided he has been talking up a storm. That sounds like very good news. According to what the doctor told Claire, I guess he had a pretty bad stroke. It seems weird that he is doing so well. I know all of your prayers have something to do with that. Thank you everyone.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes for Norman. He was moved from IMC to a regular room yesterday,he should be going to a rehab. hospital soon and I am hoping therapy will get him back to possibly normal,but he has a ways to go. I will still keep you and your husband in my prayers. I know it can be a hard and stressful on you to be with him and watching him go thru this. My dad had 3 strokes last year so I know what your going through. Good luck and hopefully he will do really well in rehab!

I wanted to let you know that Claire's DH is now in a rehab. The powers that be wanted to send him to a Nurisng Home for rehab. Imagine that? Poor Claire had to put up a fight to get him into a rehab. hospital. I feel so bad for the poor people who don't have anyone to speak up for them. It's just so sad. Claire was pretty worn out from this go around with the bureaucrats. I wish she could get some rest too. I know they appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers as Norman recovers. Thank you so much!!

Thank you Carol in keeping us updated on Norman and his progress. I worry about Claire she has been through so much this year. It is sad that we have to be right on top of things when it comes to getting medical care for our loved ones, we gotta be their advocate.

I spoke with Claire this morning. Her DH is having his rehab daily and of course, he wants to go home. He is also having some speech therapy. I'm sure he won't get better overnight. It is so very sad that one has to jump through hoops to get the proper care they need and deserve. You pay your insurance premiums for years and then you have to fight tooth and nail to get the care you need and are entitled too. I wish things could be different. I have had to be an advocate for my mother too. It can be very frustrating and time consuming. It almost seems as if they try to wear you down so you'll go away. I will keep you posted on how things are going. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers for Claire and her husband.
