I'm doing really, really well I think. It's day 5 after the surgery and today I ate some noodles and bread LOL. I've been living on pudding and gaterade (yum.... ), so it was really good.

I'm not taking any pain medication. 1, cause I hate medicine and avoid it unless it's totally necessary. and 2, cause for the 2 days I took it I was horribly sick. I'm not in very much pain. It's just uncomfortable most of the time. I've been nauseas since I woke up from surgery, and today was the first day without that, so I'm VERY grateful to be past that point!

I'm kind of really dreading these days of "unbearable pain" that I keep hearing about. Supposedly they come around the one week mark when the scabs are going to come off. I can feel the scabs in my throat (sorry...TMI LOL), so I can tell that it's getting close. so I'm getting anxious. But hopefully I'll live to tell about it!

Cindy - you are something else, my friend! that is amazing! haha. Today I saw a round of commercials for burger king, ihop, and red lobster and I almost cried LOL. I want real food sooo bad! I'm incredibly envious of you. I had mono a couple years ago, and that was 10X worse than this!

hartygirl - OUCH!! thanks for the tip! I really miss fruit. I would give anything to sink my teeth into an apple right now! haha. I think I'm going to wait a month or so before I eat fruit.

thanks so much for the concern and love guys. I really appreciate it. yesterday/this morning I kind of had a break down and was being ridiculous saying it was never going to get better (really Megan...it's been 5 days ) but I'm done being a drama queen (can you believe it?) and I'm feeling pretty good!

Glad that you are feeling better Megan I'd like to offer you a couple words of wisdom from someone who had had plenty of surgeries~so listen up

1. Don't be brave take the pain meds. It's a fact that you will recover faster with the pain meds than trying to tough it out with out. TAKE THEM!

2. If you were sick after surgery make sure that you tell the anesthesiologist if you have any surgeries in the future. They will give you meds to counteract this reaction. They sure don't want you sick.

3. Having the "I'm never going to get better" breakdown it totally normal. I promise you will get past that hump and then each day will get a little better.

4. Don't stress about the rumored week post op pain stories. Remember you have pain med USE THEM!

Jodi - I know you are right about the pain meds. I just hate it sooo much haha. He gave me something a little less strong, so hopefully it won't make me sick this time. and thank you Hugs!

Unfortunately, there was a pretty nasty setback yesterday. I started coughing up blood, which I thought was just the scabs coming off. But I went to my ENT who was very upset about it and tried to re-cauterize it in his office. He spent somewhere around an hour doing that. It was without a doubt the most painful, torturous thing I've *ever* had done to me. I wanted to die, seriously. When he was done (finally) it worked for about 15 minutes, and then I started bleeding again 10X worse. So I was taken off to the hospital and had some emergency surgery. Today I came home and I am feeling SO much better. I'm on bed rest for a week, which I'd normally complain about, but that scared the crap (to put it lightly ) out of me. I know it's my fault because I pushed it too hard. I was feeling good so I wasn't giving it time to heal. I don't want that to happen again (AT ALL haha) so I'm going to behave this time. It was the scariest thing I've ever gone through. I thought I was going to die. it was disgusting. BUT the doc is a good man and he saved me, so now I'm home taking it easy and praying that it's all good this time!!

I am JUST seeing this. I am soo sorry! That sucks so bad. I also don't tolerate pain well, lol. So I know where you're coming from. I'm hoping you are a-okay by now and back to yourself.
