				 | Absolutely, emergency care can't be refused. I know from personal experience. I was 25, laid off and in a major accident (fractured vertebra's) and they had to treat me. I was in the trauma unit, had surgery and in hospital for 1 month. I've also worked in a private hospital for 12 years and we had to take in everyone and treat them. It's built into the budget. We have many illegal aliens, like Fl does, so I'm sure they have a program. I was a "medically indigent" adult. Prays going out to your son (and your family) for a quick diagnosis and recovery. It sounds like he was given basic treatment and sent home. He needs yo isist or have you that he needs more intensive treatment.

				 | I would definitely try another hospital. There are people all the time getting treatment that may or may not have insurance. Deal with all of that after the fact, the person is what is important! Sending our prayers for your son.

Contact the Social Services at the local hospital you were visiting first, sometimes they have special programs they can offer. Then contact family services. I'm sure they have programs in every state. Considering he's unemployed, he should qualify for special help. I'll keep you in my prayers, Kathleen... Mom: to my little girls Punken Pie.. | Please "make" him go back to the ER, this is not something to mess with. He appears he has internal injury's and the thought of getting Medicaid is a good one but could take weeks or months to get it to go through.....that is weeks and months he does not have. I do understand his fear of the money, but what could is not being in debt for a medical expense if his life and health are at stake. I will be praying for both of you, I can only imagine how terrifying this must be to see your son so sick.

| Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Prayers your son is getting cared for I just read about your son, praying he has received the neccessary medical care and is on the mend. Sometimes in certain situations when one is ill they need an advocate to help get the neccessary care that is needed. I am praying that God has provided this for you and for him. Life situations can be so draining but have learnt time and time again that through God all things are possable. Here this past year I have experienced God picking me up dusting me off, setting me back down for the next round, entrusting myself in HIS care and being stronger through each trial that comes my way, each time knowing that God's best will be for myself and also for Jack. It is so sad that our society is so based on greed when it comes to care for someone in a dire situation. I don't foresee it improving seems it has only worsened. Praying that your next posting will be good news and that all is going as it should for him. I know from experience the power of prayer through the folks here at Yorkie Talk are mighty. Hugs from us both, Patti and Jack |

				 | This is so awful, I am so very sorry. I can only imagine how you must be feeling, I agree with the other comments, there must be another hospital who will treat him. They can't refuse with such a situation. Please update us soon. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

				 | Praying for you son I'm praying for your son and family. You should be able to get Medicaid I would think. They need to have a fire lit under them. I pray he will hang in there and get well really soon. Try to take care of yourself as well.

				 | It sounds like he got basic treatment and was sent home. I knew someone that didn't have insurance, he got into a car accident with a semi, they were going to send him home too. They did minimal tests but in those test they found a laceration on his liver. They had to treat him and had to transfer him to another hospital. While there the case manager tried to get me to put a down payment... And I almost did because the way she made it sound was... No money no treatment. Well I refused they treated him. So I agree... Go to another hospital. Ask to talk to social services and ask them what plans are available. He has a trauma injury and needs to be seen before he gets worse. What did they do for him the first visit?
