Please pray for my son I have a 23 year old son that is out of work, and therefore has no insurance. He is so ill that we're afraid we're going to lose him. He's been losing blood from his rectum, and has pain and constant chills in his upper and lower spine. (He fell off a ladder when trying to clean out the gutters) He can't sleep or eat, and he's just wasting away. We tried taking him to the hospital, but as he has no insurance all they'll do is put a bandaid on it, and send it home. I'm so sick of the hospitals and their lack of compassion that I could cry. It's just a big money game to them. I'm trying to get him on medicaid, so if you could all pray that it will go through I'd be so appreciative. |
I'm sorry to hear about your son. He, and you, will definitely be in my prayers. |
Sending prayers. You can also find out because most hospitals have a very unknown office that deals with the catholic charities. They allow you to pay small payments or even none depending on what your situation is like. At worst you will probably have to bite the bullet and let them bill you for their services and then make a payment plan afterwards. |
I am SO sorry for your family and your son. It's a tough time to go through right now and I will pray that he will be healed soon. I will also pray that the next time you do find a great doctor/hospital that you will not be turned away regardless of money situation. All of my love and prayers to you and your family---it's scary, but try and keep a positive attitude and thoughts and everything will be OK. -Cara, Jonathan, and Lillie |

I'm so sorry!! Will pray for him! I just don't see how the hospital can turn someone like that away!!!:( |
prayers from UK That's terrible, in the UK we moan about paying taxes but get all our treatment free, even if you have never worked a day. Sending love and prayers and booboo licks xxxxxxxxxx |
Sending many positive thoughts your way. Please keep trying different hospitals. Someone will know what to do!!! |

Several prior posts are 100% correct All hospitals are required to provide emergency care regardless of a patient's ability to pay Tax-exempt facilities (IE those with religious affiliations) may provide more ready access to such care, as they view it as reciprocity for their tax exemption. To the extent that you have a religious affiliated hospital nearby, I would start there Based on your description of his condition it sounds like your son requires IMMEDIATE care, and it is care he is entitled to receive, please get him to a facility quickly!! |

That was my thought too but don't know the Fla laws. I thought a hospital had to accept you if you come in as an emergency! What about the illegals? They get medical assistance when needed! I will keep both of you in my prayers. He must have hurt himself internally when he fell. He needs medical care now! I would take him and not leave until he was properly cared for. |
In Florida, care for uninsured / indigent cases is funded at the county level No question, care is available |
Not sure where you are located, but as an example this facility serves 37% and 19% uninsured cases through two facilities, respectively http://www.oakhillhospital.com/cpm/2...Hrev2_4web.pdf Best of luck with this situation |
When did this fall occur? Bleeding from the rectum is a very serious medical emergency when associated with a fall and needs immediate attention. I *believe* in medical emergencies a private hospital has the obligation to stabilize and then transport to an appropriate facility. |
