TY Connie for keeping us posted on Patti & Jack. They are in my prayers everyday. |
Connie, do you think it would be alright to somehow share an address where :getwellso cards could be sent? I am also besides a Yorkie:aimeeyorkLover a Rubber Stamper and would love to send Jack & Patti a card to help lift their spirits! :daisy: I was just thinking that if Jack could actually see all the :getwellso wishes, that might be something good for him visually not to mention lift Patti's spirits, too. You can pm me with an address if you think that would be okay... |
That is great news. I know Patti will be happy to get Jack home but she needs to take care of herself too. I was able to find a lovely girl to help us out with my 89 year old Dad since my Mom passed on and she is very reasonable. I would think with the unemployment situation that there are some great people out there that could help her at a reasonable price. Also, many cities have senior services to help out. Thanks Connie for the updates and I will keep them all in my prayers. It sounds like Jackie taking Dollie will work out great. |
Well.. now its nice to hear a bit of good news. It is going to be hard and trying for Patti but with God, friends & family ~ anything is possible! Patti is a strong woman and I know she will succeed! My prayers will continue for Jack's healing and Patti's continued love and strength. |
the update sounds very encouraging! continued prayers for both Jack and Patti. |

Dear Patti and Jack.........Still praying. |
What great news to read this morning. I am sure Jack will do much better when he's in his own surroundings also. I do hope Patti get's some help during the days. I know you gotta due what you gotta due but in time you wear out. Believe me I know, so it is important to get relief often. Patti has to take care of her as well. I will continue to keep you and Jack in my thoughts and daily prayer's Patti. When the going get's tough the tough get going. They really do. Things will work out, give it time.:hands: Hugs, |
Great news! I know that Patti & Jack can feel all our prayers & good wishes! I continue to keep them in my prayers! Thanks for all the updates Connie!! Hugs-Kay, Jaxon & Macy |
My update for today isn't as uplifting as yesterdays. Last night I talked to Patti until 1:45 AM. She had gone to find a lounge chair and couldn't find one so she went to the camping department and got a little cot. She was happy about that and hoped for some sleep. She sounded so tired and somewhat discouraged as we talked. She called me at about 4:30 AM and was about in tears. They were having a terrible time. Jack had torn out his IV's at one time and Patti said for some reason, there was so much blood...over him, her and the bed. Then she fell asleep and woke to the bed alarm and Jack standing on top of her. He had gotten out of the bed and her cot was right next to the bed. One of the male nurses told her that she would not be able to care for him at home. Patti asked me if Jack being home in familiar territory, if I thought that would make a difference. I just don't know...Maybe, but gosh...I do know that head injury patients are extremely hard to care for. I am worried sick not only for Jack, but for Patti. She got no sleep last night as one thing after another happened. She was giving Jack a drink of Pepsi with a straw and he told her he didn't want that "string" in there. He is so confused. Okay...another update...Patti just called. Their doctor came in and she told him that she wants Jack home. The doctor understood and said he has already ordered the hospital bed and everything Jack will need to be delivered to their home. If it is delivered by today, he can go home today! Patti told me that she is going to get home nursing care for him. She thinks this has been hard on her girls and wants stress taken off them. So, I breathed a sigh of relief when she said she will have round the clock help there. Whew! The doctor thinks Jack will do better at home than in the hospital and all the meds he needs can be taken by mouth. Patti just called again. All the wheels are in motion and it looks as if Jack will go home today, by ambulance. Patti said she will let me know and then I will pass it onto you. Patti said thank you to everyone for the prayers. She knows it is the prayers that are helping them through this. They will continue to need lots of prayers. Also, I asked Patti about giving out their address and she doesn't want me to do that. She may change her mind. She has been so overwhelmed that I don't know how she can think straight. Hugs and thanks to all! |
Thanks for the latest update, Connie. Patti sounds like a very strong person - I pray she continues to find strength during this ordeal. My prayers for Jack and the entire family continue. |

Thank you Connie for your sweet pm's! I completely understand about Patti feeling overwhelmed about her address being out there! Friends like you are treasures and I'm sure Patti & Jack can feel that, too! :2hearts2::hearts6: |
Another update: Patti just called and said that staff from ICU came running into Jack's room. It showed up on their monitors that Jack's heart is "pausing." There is a call into his doctor and they are working with him now. He may not be able to go home today. Patti doesn't know why this is happening with his heart. Please pray. |
My prayer's are with them at this time. |
